Segment-wise Car Sales for July 2020

  • While Compact Hatchback segment was the largest segment in terms of volumes; Mid-SUV was the segment which registered the highest YoY growth. It shows that how the Mid SUV volumes have grown even in tough times!
  • Compact SUV was the third largest segment and contributed to over 12% of the passenger car sales in India for July 2020.
  • Premium Hatchback segment ranked 4th and grew flat at 1% YoY.
  • Do note that Entry Hatchback segment grew significantly at 40% YoY. It signifies increased influx of first time car buyers and growing sales of the models in the segment.
  • MUV segment too has grown considerably and now contributes to over 10% of the overall sales.
