Around 85,733 mass-market passenger cars were registered in India for the month of May 2021. It was a -58% decrease over April 21.
Maruti Suzuki's Retail Market Share was higher in May'21 (when compared to WS Market Share). This indicates Maruti's Retails were better when compared to the dispatches/WS.
Hyundai reported a better wholesale Market Share vis-a-vis retail Market Share.
Tata's Retail Market Share is visibly lower - The possibility is that the dispatches may have happened in the latter part of May'21.
Maruti Suzuki retained rank 1, with the highest Market Share and registrations of 46.31%
Tata Motors recorded one of the highest YoY growth and its Market Share shot from 9.16% in April'21 to 10.95% in May'21.
Hyundai India sales too improved and were able to register a Market Share of 18.72%.
The other sibling, Kia too grew a healthy way and recorded a Market Share increase of 0.51%
Mahindra registered the Market Share of 6.45%
With the help of Maruti rebadged models & updated Fortuner - Toyota registered a market share of 3.25%
