  • Ertiga was the best selling Maruti model for May’20 with dispatches of over 2.3k units.
  • Dzire came in second with 2,215 unit dispatches.
  • Alto was pushed to 5th Spot and only 1,506 units were dispatched in May 2020.
  • Vitara Brezza could sell just over 500 units and degrew 93% YoY.
  • S-Cross Sales was ZERO as the BS6 model is yet to be launched.

  • XUV300 ranked second with dispatches of 1,257 units in  May 2020.
  • Marazzo, Xylo, Alturas & TUV300 recorded ZERO sales – BS6 still not ready?

  • Polo recorded the lowest YoY degrowth in May’20. It helped VW jump to 8th largest OEM and gain a Market Share of 3.8%. VW overtook the likes of MG & Ford in May 2020.
  • T-ROC was VW’s third best selling model with 70 units dispatched last month!

9. MORRIS GARAGES INDIA (MG Motors) –

Maruti Suzuki sales dropped massively due to non availability of BS6 diesel, MarutiSuzuki should understand we Indians r much more focused for diesel engines rather than petrol, MS has to take war footing steps to introduce BS6 engine soon or else month after month it wil loose its stronghold position to Hyundai

    1. Very true. Plus they need to match safety standards of Tara and Mahindra with at least 4 star rated cars in Global NCAP, and not avoid comparison by ignoring challenges. Else this is the beginning of the fall of Maruti Suzuki.

    2. No, I don’t think so.
      Alto was never a diesel and it is one of the top selling model for a decade.
      Maruti sales figure went down due to lockdown and other issues related to COVID.
