2026 Mahindra Scorpio-N Launched at ₹13.69 Lakh – Gets Panoramic Sunroof, 540° Camera & Bigger Screens

Mahindra & Mahindra has rolled out a significant feature upgrade for the Scorpio-N, strengthening the popular ladder-frame SUV with more technology, comfort and safety equipment. Prices for the updated 2026 Mahindra Scorpio-N start at ₹13.69 lakh and extend up to ₹25.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Rather than making major changes to the exterior design or powertrain, Mahindra has focused on addressing some of the feature gaps in the Scorpio-N. The SUV now offers a Panoramic Skyroof, 540-degree surround-view system, larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats and Level 2 ADAS, depending on the variant.

Mahindra has also introduced a new Z8S variant, creating another step in the Scorpio-N's increasingly extensive variant line-up.

2026 Mahindra Scorpio-N Price List

The Scorpio-N continues to be available with petrol and diesel engines, manual and automatic transmissions, and rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations.

All prices are ex-showroom and in ₹ lakh.

The Z2 petrol manual remains the entry point at ₹13.69 lakh, while the diesel range starts at ₹14.19 lakh. At the other end, the Z8L ADAS 7-seater Diesel 4WD AT costs ₹25.49 lakh.

New Z8S Variant Introduced

One of the biggest changes to the 2026 line-up is the introduction of the Z8S, positioned above the Z6.

Prices start at ₹17.79 lakh for the petrol manual, while the diesel manual costs ₹18.79 lakh. Automatic versions are priced at ₹19.26 lakh for petrol and ₹19.89 lakh for diesel.

More importantly, the Z8S brings several premium features further down the Scorpio-N range.

The Adventure Statistics display provides information including vehicle roll and pitch, compass, altimeter, G-force and engine performance data.

Bigger 12.3-inch Touchscreen

The upgraded cabin technology is one of the most noticeable changes.

Higher variants now receive a 31.24 cm or 12.3-inch floating HD touchscreen infotainment system. Mahindra has retained six physical buttons around the centre fascia, providing quicker access to commonly used functions.

Alongside it sits a new 26.03 cm or 10.25-inch HD digital instrument cluster.

The digital cluster supports full-screen navigation and offers three layouts — Normal, Information and Minimal.

This combination gives the Scorpio-N dashboard a considerably more contemporary appearance than before.

Panoramic Skyroof Finally Comes to Scorpio-N

Another major addition is the Panoramic Skyroof, offered on the flagship Z8L.

A single-pane sunroof continues to be offered lower down the range with the Z6, but the larger panoramic unit helps the flagship Scorpio-N compete more effectively with newer premium SUVs where panoramic sunroofs have increasingly become an important customer consideration.

540-Degree Camera With Blind View Monitor

Mahindra has also upgraded the Scorpio-N's camera technology.

The Z8L receives a 540-degree surround-view system with Blind View Monitor, improving visibility around the large SUV while parking or manoeuvring through tight spaces.

The Blind View Monitor further assists the driver by providing additional visibility around areas that may otherwise be difficult to see from the driver's seat.

Level 2 ADAS Continues on Z8L

The flagship Scorpio-N Z8L continues to offer Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The combination of ADAS, the new surround-view camera and Blind View Monitor significantly strengthens the technology and safety package offered by the flagship Scorpio-N.

Z8T Gets Ventilated Seats and Sony Audio

The Z8T also receives an extensive equipment package and arguably becomes one of the most interesting variants in the refreshed line-up.

Highlights include:

• New 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels

• 12-speaker Sony branded audio system

• Ventilated front seats

• 6-way powered driver's seat

• Electronic parking brake with Auto Hold

• Frameless auto-dimming IRVM

• Front parking sensors

These additions address several features increasingly expected by buyers spending upwards of ₹20 lakh on a premium SUV.

Z8 Adds More Convenience Features

Positioned above the new Z8S, the Z8 adds equipment such as:

• Dual-zone automatic climate control

• Passive keyless entry

• Push-button start

• Power-folding ORVMs

• Automatic headlamps

• Automatic wipers

• Tyre-pressure monitoring system

• Wireless smartphone charger with active cooling

This makes the Z8 a more convenience-focused upgrade over the already well-equipped Z8S.

Z6 Gets Sunroof and Reverse Camera

The Z6 builds upon the equipment available with the Z4 and brings some important upgrades.

It receives a single-pane sunroof with anti-pinch functionality, electric power steering, reverse camera and six-speaker audio system.

It also gets Mahindra's Zip-Zap-Zoom drive modes and silver-finished skid plates.

Z4 Remains an Important Mid-Level Variant

The Z4 continues with an 8-inch (20.32 cm) infotainment system supporting wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Additional equipment over the Z2 includes electrically adjustable ORVMs, driver-seat height adjustment, cruise control, rear wiper, washer and demister, rear spoiler and second-row AC module.

Diesel 4WD versions also receive Mahindra's Shift-on-Fly four-wheel-drive system.

Even the Z2 Gets Essential Equipment

Mahindra has retained a reasonably strong equipment package for the entry-level Scorpio-N Z2.

Features include touchscreen infotainment, LED tail lamps, ORVM-mounted LED turn indicators, 17-inch steel wheels, four speakers, ESP, steering-mounted audio controls, second-row AC vents and ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear.

The Z2 also gets a 15W USB-C charging port for second-row occupants.

65W USB-C Fast Charging Added

Another useful addition to the updated Scorpio-N is a 65W USB Type-C fast-charging port for the front row.

With smartphones, tablets and other devices increasingly supporting high-speed USB-C charging, the upgrade adds a practical convenience feature to the SUV.

Scorpio-N 4WD Continues With 4XPLOR

Mahindra hasn't diluted the Scorpio-N's traditional SUV credentials.

Selected diesel variants continue to be available with the 4XPLOR four-wheel-drive system, including selectable Shift-on-Fly 4WD.

The system is complemented by an advanced electronic brake-locking differential on the 4WD versions.

This remains one of the biggest differentiators between the Scorpio-N and the large number of front-wheel-drive monocoque SUVs available around the same price point.

Engines Remain Unchanged

There are no major mechanical changes with the latest feature enhancement.

The Scorpio-N continues with Mahindra's familiar:

2.0-litre G20 TGDi mStallion turbo-petrol

and

2.2-litre D22 mHawk turbo-diesel

engine options.

Both manual and automatic transmission choices continue, while the diesel also offers the option of four-wheel drive on selected variants.

Mahindra has therefore retained the Scorpio-N's established powertrain and body-on-frame formula while concentrating the 2026 update on technology and equipment.

Scorpio-N Crosses 3.8 Lakh Sales

The timing of the upgrade is significant considering the Scorpio-N's performance since its introduction.

According to Mahindra, more than 3.8 lakh units of the Scorpio-N have been sold since its debut in 2022.

Mahindra has also continuously expanded the range over this period. The Z8 Select arrived in 2024, followed by the Z8T in 2025 and the introduction of Level 2 ADAS.

The 2026 feature enhancement represents another step in that evolution.

Auto Punditz Take

The Scorpio-N's core appeal has always revolved around its imposing road presence, powerful engines, rear-wheel-drive architecture and genuine four-wheel-drive capability. However, the rapid increase in equipment levels across India's ₹15-25 lakh SUV market meant that some of its cabin technology was beginning to look dated.

Mahindra's latest update directly addresses that issue.

The 12.3-inch infotainment screen and 10.25-inch digital cluster modernise the dashboard, while the panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, powered driver's seat, 12-speaker Sony audio system and 540-degree camera significantly improve the premium quotient.

The introduction of the Z8S at ₹17.79 lakh is equally interesting. It brings the new digital interface and several premium features to a lower price point without requiring buyers to move all the way to the Z8T or Z8L.

Most importantly, Mahindra has achieved this without fundamentally changing what makes the Scorpio-N different from most modern SUVs — its body-on-frame construction, powerful petrol and diesel engines and availability of proper four-wheel drive.

With more than 3.8 lakh units already sold, the 2026 feature upgrade should help keep the Scorpio-N relevant in an increasingly technology-driven SUV market.
