Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Retains Crown

Leading the charts once again is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga with 1,98,876 units, growing 4.1% YoY and commanding a 21.3% segment share. The Ertiga’s continued success is no surprise—it strikes the right balance between affordability, fuel efficiency (including CNG options), and practicality, making it the go-to choice for both private and fleet buyers.

Mahindra Scorpio Emerges as Strong No.2

At second place, the Mahindra Scorpio posted 1,78,800 units, growing a solid 8.5% YoY, with a 19.1% share. With the combined appeal of Scorpio Classic and Scorpio-N, Mahindra has successfully catered to both rural and urban buyers, reinforcing its dominance in the rugged SUV space.

Toyota Innova Range Holds Firm

The combined performance of Toyota Innova Crysta and Toyota Innova Hycross secured the third position with 1,12,188 units and a 12% share. Toyota’s hybrid push with the Hycross continues to gain traction, while the Crysta remains a fleet favorite—ensuring consistent volumes for the brand.

Mahindra Bolero Continues Rural Stronghold

The Mahindra Bolero stood fourth with 1,10,136 units, registering an impressive 16.2% growth. Its rugged build, low maintenance, and strong rural demand continue to make it a backbone product for Mahindra.

XUV700 Sees Decline Amid Portfolio Expansion

The Mahindra XUV700 ranked fifth with 87,412 units, witnessing a 6.1% decline YoY.

The dip can be attributed to internal competition and portfolio expansion, as Mahindra now offers multiple strong 7-seater options across price points.

Kia Carens Registers Strong Growth

The Kia Carens (including Clavis) delivered 76,837 units, growing a healthy 18.9% YoY, capturing 8.2% share. Carens continues to attract urban families with its premium features and flexible seating, positioning itself as a modern alternative in the MPV space.

FY2026 clearly highlights a dual-market dynamic:

  • Value-driven MPVs like Ertiga and Triber continue to drive volumes

  • Aspirational SUVs like Scorpio and XUV700 are shaping consumer preferences

Mahindra emerges as the biggest gainer with a diversified SUV lineup, while Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate through sheer volume efficiency. With new launches, hybrid adoption, and premiumization trends accelerating, the 7-seater segment is poised for even stronger growth in FY2027.
