Cars24 vs Spinny vs Maruti True Value vs Mahindra First Choice: Where Can I Sell Easily and Quickly, and What's the Best Place?

6 min read

Cars24 states the fastest route: one visit, and payment within an hour of confirming the sale. Spinny's blog gives up to 48 hours, while its sell page says same day. Mahindra First Choice evaluates in 15 to 20 minutes and pays within 48 hours. Maruti True Value states no payment time and pays after RTO verification. Reviewers on Cars24 and Spinny describe fast first payment and slower final settlement, so ask for both dates.

Where can I sell my car easily and quickly?

Two measures matter, and they differ. Quick is the elapsed time from the first step to money in your account. Easy is the number of steps, visits and documents you handle yourself. A third clock matters after payment. Some platforms hold part of the money until paperwork finishes, so first payment and final settlement can sit weeks or months apart.

Cars24 vs Spinny: same-day payment, different routes

Cars24 states the shorter route. Its FAQ says inspection, auction, final offer and paperwork can finish on the same day in most cases, and that payment reaches your account within an hour of confirmation, paid before the car leaves. It also says you can sell in as little as 24 hours.

Spinny adds a wait and softens the word "instant." Its blog says the final offer follows within 24 hours of the evaluation. It puts payment within 48 hours depending on the method, and for bank transfers it pays before pickup. The same blog says "instant" should be read as the payment process starting once you accept, with no promise of money in minutes. Its pricing page says you can get paid the same day, so the two Spinny pages differ.

What can slow each. A missing document, a car on loan that requires NOC clearance, or a vehicle with challans, all are cases which can slow down the transaction, regardless of the platform.

Two clocks, so ask for two dates. First payment is the headline. Final settlement depends on holdbacks and the RC transfer. Ask each platform for both dates.

Where each should win. Cars24 is the only one of the four stating a payment time in hours and a same-day finish. Spinny's route is a single buyer and a fixed offer, at the cost of up to a day's wait for it.

How do Maruti True Value and Mahindra First Choice compare on effort?

Maruti True Value. After a Request for Evaluation, a doorstep or outlet evaluation follows, against 376 checkpoints, and True Value's selling FAQ says no additional charges or commissions apply. Payment is made at the earliest and in full once your bona fides are verified at the RTO, with no hour or day stated. A financed car must have the loan repaid and the hypothecation removed before the sale, which adds a bank step first, on a timeline the bank sets. The pages reviewed state no offer validity.

Mahindra First Choice. Mahindra First Choice's FAQ offers a walk-in evaluation with no appointment, or a free doorstep evaluation by appointment, usually taking 15 to 20 minutes. The offer stays valid up to 7 days and payment follows within 48 hours. For a financed car, it can pay off the loan, keeps a small amount until the NOC arrives, and may ask you to visit the finance company once with its evaluator. The page's text appears to predate 2020, so confirm each term.

What is the best place to sell once speed counts?

Rank by stated terms, with the caveat that none has been tested:

  1. Cars24: payment within an hour of confirmation and a same-day finish.

  2. Spinny: payment within 48 hours, same day per one page, with up to 24 hours for the offer.

  3. Mahindra First Choice: a 15 to 20 minute walk-in evaluation, a 7-day offer and payment within 48 hours.

  4. Maruti True Value: no stated payment or offer time, and payment follows RTO verification.

So which is the best place to sell easily and quickly?

●        Choose Cars24 if you want the shortest stated route, can book a slot and have PAN and bank papers ready.

●        Choose Spinny if you want one fixed offer and can accept up to a day for it and up to 48 hours for payment.

●        Choose Maruti True Value if your loan is already cleared and you can accept a payment time the FAQ does not state.

●        Choose Mahindra First Choice if you prefer to walk into a store, want a 7-day offer, and will confirm the terms on a dated page.

Before you start

  1. Gather the RC, insurance, ID, keys and service records, plus PAN, photos and a cancelled cheque if you want instant payment on Cars24.

  2. Clear or confirm the loan first, since True Value requires it and the others handle it with a foreclosure letter.

  3. Book the earliest slot, and ask whether your area has a home visit.

  4. Ask for the first-payment date, the final-settlement date and any holdback amount in writing.

Final rules

  1. Measure two clocks: first payment and final settlement.

  2. Treat "instant" as a process start unless the platform states hours.

  3. Prepare payment documents before the inspection, so the offer window starts with everything ready.

  4. Clear a loan before choosing a platform that requires it.

  5. Confirm every holdback amount and release date in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Q. How fast can I actually get paid?

Cars24's FAQ says within an hour of confirmation. Spinny's blog says within 48 hours, and Mahindra First Choice's FAQ also says within 48 hours. True Value states no time.

Q. Does "instant payment" mean money in minutes?

Spinny's blog says instant payment means the payment process starts once you accept, with the formal timeline up to 48 hours.

Q. Why can the full payment take longer than the first payment?

Holdbacks. Cars24 may hold an amount until a loan NOC or pending documents arrive, and Spinny can hold an amount until the OTP step or 180 days after procurement.

Q. Should I clear my loan before selling?

Maruti True Value's FAQ says the loan must be repaid and the hypothecation removed first. Cars24, Spinny and Mahindra First Choice each describe handling the payoff for you, so ask what they hold back.

Q. Does the order I book inspections in affect speed?

Yes. A longer-validity offer can wait while you run a shorter one, and Cars24's offer typically lapses after 24 hours.
