Hyundai Venue recorded dispatches of 11,245 units in April 2021 and outsold Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to become the best-selling Sub-4m compact SUV vehicle for the month of April 2021!
The Compact SUV segment is currently the most contested segment in India right now. It has gained tremendous volumes in the country over the years and was India's second-largest segment in terms of volumes for April 2021! It recorded sales of over 54k units in April 2021 and was only behind to Compact Hatch segment last month. The segment has offerings from the majority of the OEMs in India and the likes of Kia, Toyota, Nissan & Renault too entered the segment in 2020.
Hyundai Venue finished on top of the sales charts as the highest-selling Sub-4m Compact SUV in the country with sales of 11,245 units. It outsold Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to clinch the top position just 25 units.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza recorded shipments of 11,220 units and was the only other Compact SUV to breach the 10k mark in April 2021.
Kia Sonet was launched in 2020 as the most feature-rich offering in the segment and with the most number of engine/transmission combinations. The model started off well and soon matching Seltos volumes. It has placed itself strongly in the third spot in the segment.
Nexon has emerged as Tata's most successful model in has been gaining popularity post G-NCAPs 5 star rating. It had even toppled Sonet from the third rank in March 2021.
Indian OEMs have created new benchmarks in the segment in terms of safety and XUV300 along with Nexon are attracting safety-conscious buyers. With dispatches of over 4.1k units in April 2021, XUV500 ranked fifth in the list.
Ford Ecosport managed to rank sixth in the list with sales of 3,820 units in April 2021 and was ahead of Nissan's Magnite and Renault Kiger.
Nissan Magnite toppled Renault Kiger for the first time in April 2021. It sold 2,904 units in April 2021 and was 104 units ahead of Kiger.
Toyota’s Urban Cruiser ranked 9th in April 2021 with sales of 2,155 units and Honda WR-V at 10th with sales of 1,194 units.
