Genesis, the luxury car manufacturer, has released a teaser video of its new electric coupe car. The car is suspected to be the new Gen Essentia.
(Auto enthusiasts would recall that the Genesis Essentia concept car had been showcased, for the first time in 2018 at the New York Auto Show.)
Genesis’s design philosophy “Athletic Elegance” is shown off in the video. The G70 and GV80 have been designed with this philosophy in mind.
In the video, the distinctive grill is shown flanked by the headlamps in two casings.
The headlamps bear a striking resemblance to the other cars in the Genesis lineup.
There are the same sleek taillights and concave rear, as in the Essentia. And they extend all the way into the sides of the fenders, through the front wheel
The video, interestingly, features an updated shield-like grill, which was not there in the initial Essentia launches.
The vehicle’s rear-end has a muscular haunch, giving a bold look to the vehicle exterior. The interior has an orb that when flipped, will reveal the gear selector and drive mode toggle.

The powertrain and range of the vehicle details are unavailable, as yet. However, the Essentia Electric Coupe could have multiple electric motors.
It will also accelerate from Zero to 100 kmph in 3 seconds.
The car is expected to be launched on 31 March 2021.
