Hyundai India Sales Analysis for March 2021

Hyundai continued to be India’s second-largest in the month of March 2021 as 52,600 units were recorded against 26,300 units during the same period in 2020 with a Year-on-Year growth of 100 percent. The South Korean major grabbed a 16.4 percent Market Share with a decrease of -2.3 percent over March last year.

  • Hyundai's Creta has now been a consistent flag bearer for the brand is now dominating the Top Slot for the OEM. It again emerged as the best-selling Hyundai for the month with dispatches of 12,640 units. Creta was also the most sold SUV in the country for March 2021 with a YoY growth of 88 percent and MoM growth of 2 percent.

  • Hyundai is now India's biggest UV manufacturer and is backed by 2 strong models - Creta & Venue. Venue was Hyundai's third best-selling car in Mar'21 and around 10,722 units were dispatched last month.

  • Grand i10 saw an increase of 157 percent YoY and ranked second on the list. It was able to outsell the elder sibling i20 by quite a margin.

  • Hyundai i20 seems to have stabilized at 9k monthly volumes. The New i20 hasn't got incremental volumes for the model.

  • Santro has regularly been posting volume de-growth and a total of 2,165 units were garnered in March 2021 as against 2,169 units with almost flat growth.

  • Verna still fights to make a strong presence in the Executive Sedan segment and emerged to be the bestseller in March 2021! Verna finished in the sixth position for the OEM with 2,778 units dispatched in Mar'21 as against 893 units in Mar'20 with a 211 percent increase in volumes.
