Hyundai Sales July 2026: Creta Leads at 18,088 Units as Domestic Dispatches Rise 23%

Hyundai Motor India recorded a strong performance in July 2026, with domestic passenger vehicle dispatches reaching 54,210 units, registering a 23% year-on-year growth compared with 43,973 units sold in July 2025.

The company also witnessed a sharp sequential recovery, with July volumes rising 37% month-on-month from 39,635 units dispatched in June 2026. The Hyundai Creta remained the brand’s highest-selling model, while Venue, Exter and i20 also contributed significantly to Hyundai’s July tally.

• Hyundai dispatched 18,088 units of the Creta in July 2026, up from 16,898 units during the corresponding month last year, translating into a 7% YoY growth. The month-on-month improvement was considerably stronger. Creta sales jumped 152% compared with just 7,168 units recorded in June 2026.

• With more than 18,000 units dispatched during the month, the Creta accounted for roughly one-third of Hyundai’s total domestic sales, reinforcing its position as the company’s volume backbone.

• The Venue emerged as Hyundai’s second-best-selling model with 11,095 units dispatched during July. Compared with 8,054 units in July 2025, the compact SUV registered a healthy 38% YoY growth.

• Combined, the Creta and Venue contributed nearly 29,200 units, accounting for more than half of Hyundai’s domestic dispatches during July.

• The Hyundai Exter registered 6,810 units in July 2026, compared with 5,075 units during July last year.

• One of the biggest highlights of Hyundai’s July performance was the i20, which registered 6,738 units. Sales nearly doubled from 3,396 units recorded in July 2025, translating into an impressive 98% YoY growth.

• The Aura compact sedan registered sales of 5,817 units during July 2026. This was a 25% improvement over the 4,636 units sold during July 2025. However, compared with June 2026 sales of 5,977 units, volumes declined marginally by 3%.

• Hyundai's Grand i10 recorded 4,055 units in July 2026, increasing from 3,560 units during the same period last year.

• The Hyundai Alcazar recorded 862 units during July 2026. Compared with 1,419 units sold in July 2025, the three-row SUV witnessed a 39% YoY decline.

• The Hyundai Verna registered 737 units during July. Sales were down 11% year-on-year compared with 826 units during July 2025. On a monthly basis, however, Verna volumes increased 33% from 554 units recorded during June 2026.

• Hyundai dispatched only 8 units of the IONIQ 5 in July 2026. This represents a 68% YoY decline from 25 units sold during July 2025, while volumes were down 11% compared with nine units dispatched in June.

Hyundai recorded 54,210 domestic dispatches in July 2026, up 23% YoY, with Creta remaining its best-selling model at 18,088 units.

SUVs Continue to Drive Hyundai's Volumes

Hyundai's July performance once again demonstrates the importance of SUVs to its Indian portfolio. The Creta, Venue, Exter and Alcazar collectively contributed 36,855 units, accounting for approximately 68% of Hyundai's total domestic dispatches during the month.

Creta and Venue alone contributed nearly 54% of Hyundai's sales. At the same time, the sharp recovery of the i20 indicates that hatchbacks continue to retain meaningful demand despite the broader Indian passenger vehicle market increasingly shifting towards SUVs.

July 2026 was a strong month for Hyundai, with overall volumes climbing 23% YoY and 37% MoM to 54,210 units. While the Creta continued to anchor Hyundai's performance, the standout growth came from the i20, Venue and Exter. The i20's 98% annual growth and 269% sequential surge were particularly noteworthy.

However, Hyundai's larger and premium models remained relatively subdued, with the Alcazar and Verna recording year-on-year declines and IONIQ 5 volumes remaining negligible.

With the Creta continuing to command substantial volumes and Venue maintaining five-figure monthly sales, Hyundai's compact and midsize SUV portfolio remains central to the company's position in the Indian passenger vehicle market.
