Mahindra is steadily expanding its born-electric SUV portfolio, and the next model in line appears to be the Mahindra BE 07. The upcoming electric SUV has once again been spotted testing on Indian roads, with the latest prototype revealing one of the clearest looks yet at its production-spec interior.
The biggest takeaway from the latest sighting is the presence of a triple-screen dashboard, bringing the BE 07 closer to Mahindra’s premium Electric Origin models such as the XEV 9e and XEV 9S. The test vehicle also continues to reveal a relatively upright SUV silhouette, frameless doors and several design elements aimed at differentiating the BE 07 from the sportier BE 6.
Once launched, the BE 07 is expected to become another important addition to Mahindra’s rapidly growing born-electric portfolio.

Mahindra BE 07 Gets Triple-Screen Dashboard
The latest spy images provide a much clearer look at the BE 07’s cabin. Most notably, Mahindra appears to have finalised a three-screen arrangement stretching across the dashboard.
The layout consists of a digital instrument cluster for the driver, a central infotainment touchscreen and a dedicated display for the front passenger. A similar arrangement is already available on the XEV 9e and XEV 9S.
The passenger display should allow the co-driver to access entertainment and other functions independently, while keeping the main infotainment system available for navigation and vehicle controls.
A floating centre console is also visible, continuing the minimalist and technology-focused approach seen across Mahindra’s new-generation electric SUVs.
More Conventional SUV Styling Than BE 6
While the BE 6 uses an aggressive coupe-SUV profile, Mahindra appears to be taking a noticeably different approach with the BE 07.
The prototype has a taller and more upright silhouette, potentially making it the more family-oriented model of the BE range. The squarer rear section should also help maximise rear-seat headroom and luggage capacity.
Despite the more conventional proportions, Mahindra hasn't abandoned the futuristic elements associated with its Electric Origin vehicles.
The prototypes indicate features such as:
Frameless doors
Flush-fitting door handles
Large aerodynamic alloy wheels
Roof-mounted rear spoiler
Integrated rear wiper
Large rear quarter glass
Clamshell-style tailgate
Mahindra’s distinctive LED lighting signatures are also expected to feature on the production model.
Interestingly, reports suggest the BE 07 could become one of the first mainstream Indian SUVs to offer frameless doors, giving the model an unusually premium design element for its segment.
Based on Mahindra's INGLO Architecture
Underneath, the BE 07 will be based on Mahindra's dedicated INGLO electric vehicle architecture, which already underpins models including the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S.
Mahindra originally showcased the BE.07 concept in August 2022. At the time, the company announced dimensions of 4,370 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height, along with a 2,775 mm wheelbase.
The production vehicle could differ slightly from those original concept specifications, but the proportions position the BE 07 as a substantial five-seat electric SUV.
59 kWh and 79 kWh Batteries Expected
Mahindra has not officially announced the production BE 07's battery specifications yet. However, the SUV is expected to leverage powertrain hardware already developed for the company's INGLO-based EV family.
Current reports point towards 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options, although the final configuration remains unconfirmed. The larger battery version could potentially offer a claimed driving range exceeding 600 km depending on the certification cycle and final vehicle specification.
Rear-wheel-drive is expected to form the core of the range, while a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration has also been reported as a possibility.
Given Mahindra's strategy with its existing Electric Origin SUVs, multiple battery, powertrain and equipment combinations would allow the BE 07 to cover a fairly wide price band.
BE 07 Expected To Be Loaded With Features
The triple-screen dashboard suggests Mahindra intends to position the BE 07 as another technology-heavy offering.
Expected equipment includes a panoramic glass roof, powered and ventilated front seats, memory functionality, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and a premium audio system.
Safety and driver-assistance equipment could include a 360-degree camera, head-up display and Level 2 ADAS, with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and autonomous emergency braking.
However, these features should be treated as expected equipment until Mahindra confirms the production specifications.
Where Will The BE 07 Sit In Mahindra's EV Line-up?
Mahindra's electric portfolio has expanded rapidly since the arrival of the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
The XEV 9S subsequently expanded the INGLO family into the three-row SUV space, while the BE 07 is expected to target customers looking for a spacious five-seat electric SUV with more conventional proportions than the BE 6.
That positioning could prove important.
The BE 6 is intentionally youthful and design-focused, while the XEV 9e uses a larger coupe-SUV format. The BE 07 could effectively become the practical midsize/upper-midsize SUV of Mahindra's Electric Origin family, combining an upright body with the technology and electric architecture of its siblings.
Launch Expected in 2027
Mahindra's original 2022 product roadmap had listed an October 2026 introduction for the BE.07 concept's production derivative.
However, with development prototypes still undergoing road testing, more recent reports point towards a 2027 debut.
This is therefore an important distinction: the October 2026 timeline came from Mahindra's original roadmap, while the production programme appears to have evolved since then.
Pricing has not been officially announced either. Current market estimates suggest that the BE 07 could occupy the ₹25 lakh-₹30 lakh-plus territory depending on battery and drivetrain configuration.

Auto Punditz Take
The latest BE 07 sighting suggests Mahindra isn't simply creating a larger version of the BE 6. Instead, the company appears to be developing a more conventional and practical electric SUV while retaining the technology-led identity of its Electric Origin range.
The triple-screen dashboard and frameless doors should give it considerable showroom appeal, while the upright body could make the BE 07 more attractive to family buyers who find coupe-SUV designs less practical.
More importantly, Mahindra will enter an increasingly competitive part of India's EV market. Depending on its eventual pricing and launch timing, the BE 07 could find itself competing with electric SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV, Tata Sierra EV, BYD Atto 3, VinFast VF 7 and other upcoming premium electric SUVs.
With road testing now revealing increasingly production-ready details, the BE 07 looks to be moving closer to the next phase of its development. Its combination of INGLO architecture, premium cabin technology and traditional SUV proportions could make it one of Mahindra's most important upcoming electric models.
