With dispatches of 3,406 units, Mahindra Thar recorded its all-time highest monthly volume in April 2021. The model volumes shot up 78 percent in April 2021 when compared to March 2021 and crossed 3.4k units for the first time!
Mahindra & Mahindra claimed the position of the fourth best-selling car manufacturer in the country for April 2021 and was ahead of Kia India by quite a margin (source). Mahindra volumes surged 9 percent in Apr'21 when compared to Mar'21 and was backed by strong sales increase for Scorpio, XUV300 and Thar.
Mahindra Thar has proved to be one of the most popular cars on the Indian roads today and commands a waiting period of up to 41 weeks in certain cities! The model registered its all-time highest monthly sales dispatches and 3,406 units were shipped in April 2021. Such volumes are unheard of for any Lifestyle Offroader and it almost matched Scorpio volumes in Apr'21.
Bolero remains Mahindra’s best-selling car but declined 31 percent in April 2021 over March 2021.
With dispatches of 4,144 units; XUV300 was Mahindra’s second best-selling model and it recorded 60 percent MoM growth! It dethroned Scorpio from the second spot. The optimized prices and 5-star rating from GNCAP have helped the Compact SUV gain volumes in the past few months - but it could do much better.
Mahindra Scorpio is cashing on the rural demand a grew a healthy 53 percent, MoM. The model is due for a facelift and is highly awaited.
Marazzo and KUV100 sales suffered heavily and couldn’t contribute much to Mahindra’s sales.
Mahindra's sales in Apr'21 is commendable as the market sentiment was low due to lock-down-induced supply chain challenges. However; the dealership closures in certain worst affected states shall slow down the demand momentum and may chart a difficult course for Mahindra & Auto Industry in May'21.
