Mahindra & Mahindra claimed the position of the fourth best-selling car manufacturer in the country for June 2021 and was ahead of Kia India by over 1.5k units (source). Mahindra volumes surged 109 percent in June'21 when compared to June'20 and was backed by strong sales increase for XUV300, Bolero, Scorpio, and Thar.

As the lockdown restrictions have been easing and dealerships across India are starting to open the things for the OEMs are steadily going towards a good pace in terms of sales. The situation was similar for Mahindra too and the OEM saw a triple-digit YoY & MoM growth. Mahindra is also betting heavily on future upcoming products. The OEM is expected to launch XUV700 in October 2021, and the teasers for the model have already started. XUV700 is likely to come loaded with features and probably will be powered with a 2.0 Litre turbo petrol and 2.2 Litre turbo diesel engine.

  • Bolero remains Mahindra’s best-selling car and grew 74 percent in June 2021 over June 2020. M&M is all set to launch the Boleo Neo in July 2021 and the company has shared various details of the model through a set of teaser videos.

  • With dispatches of 4,144 units; XUV300 was Mahindra’s second best-selling model and it recorded 155 percent YoY growth and 1739 percent MoM growth! It dethroned Scorpio from the second spot. The optimized prices and 5-star rating from GNCAP have helped the Compact SUV gain volumes in the past few months.

  • Mahindra Scorpio is cashing on the rural demand a grew a healthy 62 percent, YoY. The model is due for a facelift and is highly awaited.

  • Thar supply has been highly inconsistent and is visible in the sales trend. The model is commanding a high waiting period and irregularities in supply is impacting the volumes for sure.

  • KUV100 sales suffered heavily and couldn’t contribute much to Mahindra’s sales.
