Mahindra Sales October 2026 – Record 73,338 SUVs Sold, Total Auto Sales Cross 1.31 Lakh Units
Mahindra & Mahindra achieved its highest-ever monthly SUV and overall automotive sales in October 2026. Domestic SUV volumes rose 14.4% month-on-month, while commercial vehicles, three-wheelers and exports supported overall growth.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported a record-breaking performance in October 2026, registering 1,31,109 vehicle sales, including exports, representing a 9% year-on-year growth. The company also achieved its highest-ever monthly domestic SUV sales of 73,338 units, compared with 71,624 units in October 2025.
Although domestic SUV sales grew by a relatively modest 2.4% year-on-year, the sequential improvement was substantially stronger. SUV volumes increased 14.4% over September 2026, reflecting healthy demand during the festive buying period.
Mahindra's commercial vehicle and three-wheeler businesses also delivered positive growth, while automotive exports increased sharply. However, the company's Farm Equipment Business reported a double-digit decline in domestic tractor sales due primarily to the shift in the festive calendar.
Mahindra SUV Sales October 2026 – Highest-Ever Monthly Volume
Mahindra's SUV business continued its strong sales momentum with domestic deliveries to dealers reaching 73,338 units in October 2026. This marked a new monthly record for the automaker and reinforced its position among India's leading SUV manufacturers.
While October 2025 had already established a high comparison base, Mahindra managed to exceed those volumes by 1,714 units. More notably, SUV sales increased by 9,246 units compared with September 2026.
Mahindra SUV Sales Comparison
Period | SUV sales | Change |
October 2026 | 73,338 | — |
October 2025 | 71,624 | +2.4% YoY |
September 2026 | 64,092 | +14.4% MoM |
The growth indicates that Mahindra maintained demand momentum despite an already elevated sales base. Festive-season purchases, an expanded product portfolio and continued consumer preference for SUVs contributed to the performance.
Including exports, Mahindra's total utility vehicle sales reached 74,904 units during October 2026.
The company's cumulative domestic SUV sales for April–October FY2027 stood at 4,31,480 units, compared with 3,69,194 units in the corresponding period of FY2026. This represents growth of approximately 17%, significantly stronger than October's standalone annual growth. Mahindra also highlighted encouraging customer response to its recently introduced Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG, suggesting further opportunities in the alternative-fuel SUV segment. However, the company has not disclosed October sales at the individual SUV model level.
Mahindra Commercial Vehicle Sales Grow 4% in October 2026
Mahindra's domestic light commercial vehicle business recorded sales of 33,037 units in October 2026, compared with approximately 31,741 units during the corresponding month last year. The performance was driven primarily by vehicles in the 2–3.5-tonne category, while the smaller commercial vehicle segment registered a marginal decline.
Commercial vehicle segment | Oct 2026 | Oct 2025 | YoY |
LCV below 2 tonnes | 4,383 | 4,559 | −4% |
LCV 2–3.5 tonnes | 28,654 | 27,182 | +5% |
Total domestic CVs | 33,037 | 31,741 | +4% |
The divergence between the two categories indicates that demand for relatively higher-payload commercial vehicles remained stronger than demand in the lighter category. Mahindra's wider commercial vehicle portfolio, including pickup trucks and goods carriers, continues to contribute meaningfully to its overall automotive volumes.
Mahindra Three-Wheeler Sales Jump 38%
Mahindra's three-wheeler business emerged as one of its strongest-performing segments during October 2026. Sales reached 17,632 units, compared with 12,762 units in October 2025, registering 38% year-on-year growth.
The segment includes electric three-wheelers, an area where Mahindra has been expanding its last-mile mobility presence. For April–October FY2027, cumulative three-wheeler sales increased to 99,690 units from 66,340 units a year earlier, representing 50% growth.
The sustained expansion suggests that last-mile mobility is becoming an increasingly important contributor to Mahindra's automotive business. However, the October figures do not separately identify electric and conventional three-wheeler volumes, making it difficult to quantify their individual contributions.
Mahindra Automotive Exports Surge 77%
Mahindra also recorded substantial growth in international shipments during October 2026. Exports increased to 7,102 vehicles from 4,015 units in October 2025, representing an impressive 77% year-on-year increase.
Cumulative exports for April–October FY2027 reached 37,133 units, registering approximately 53% growth over the corresponding period last year. Although exports still represent a relatively small proportion of Mahindra's overall automotive volumes, the strong growth provides an additional avenue for volume expansion.
Mahindra Trucks and Buses Sales Rise 40%
Mahindra's separately reported trucks and buses business, comprising Mahindra Truck & Bus Division and SML Mahindra, recorded combined sales of 2,838 units in October 2026, compared with 2,034 units in October 2025. This translated into 40% year-on-year growth.
Category | October 2026 | October 2025 | Growth |
Cargo vehicles | 2,036 | 1,255 | +62% |
Passenger vehicles | 802 | 779 | +3% |
Total trucks and buses | 2,838 | 2,034 | +40% |
The growth was driven largely by cargo vehicles, which recorded a 62% increase.
Mahindra Truck & Bus Division reported sales of 1,773 units, growing 82%, while SML Mahindra recorded 1,065 units, registering a marginal 1% increase. Cumulative trucks and buses sales for April–October FY2027 reached 20,643 units, up 24% year-on-year.
The performance points towards healthy demand in goods transportation, supported by freight movement and infrastructure-related activity.
Mahindra Tractor Sales Decline 13% in October 2026
Unlike the automotive business, Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business witnessed a decline in domestic tractor sales during October 2026. Domestic tractor volumes fell to 62,626 units from 72,071 units in October 2025, representing a 13% year-on-year contraction.
Tractor sales | Oct 2026 | Oct 2025 | YoY |
Domestic | 62,626 | 72,071 | −13% |
Exports | 2,220 | 1,589 | +40% |
Total | 64,846 | 73,660 | −12% |
Mahindra attributed the slowdown primarily to the shift in the festive calendar, with Diwali falling in November 2026 instead of October in the previous year. Despite the weaker monthly performance, the cumulative tractor business remained in positive territory. Domestic tractor sales for April–October FY2027 stood at 3,25,498 units, increasing approximately 2% year-on-year.
Exports provided some support, growing 40% during October and 19% for the first seven months of FY2027. The slowdown should therefore be viewed in the context of seasonal demand patterns rather than interpreted as conclusive evidence of weakening agricultural equipment demand.

Outlook
Mahindra enters the remaining months of FY2027 with strong cumulative growth in SUVs, three-wheelers and exports. Its ability to sustain momentum will depend on continued SUV demand, portfolio freshness, production availability and competitive pricing. The next few months will also be important for assessing the contribution of newly introduced variants such as the XUV 3XO ZNG and the broader response to Mahindra's electric-origin SUV portfolio.
Conclusion
Mahindra's October 2026 sales performance represents an important milestone, with record domestic SUV volumes of 73,338 units and overall automotive sales of 1,31,109 units. While SUV sales growth moderated on a year-on-year basis, the strong sequential increase, expanding export business and healthy three-wheeler demand highlight the breadth of Mahindra's automotive operations.
The tractor business remained a notable exception, although the impact of the festive-calendar shift makes it important to assess performance over a longer period.
Auto Punditz Take: Mahindra's biggest achievement in October was not simply setting another SUV sales record, but sustaining high volumes while developing additional growth engines in three-wheelers, exports and commercial vehicles. The key challenge ahead will be converting these record monthly volumes into consistent growth over the remainder of FY2027.
