Mahindra & Mahindra has revised the prices of its flagship internal-combustion SUV, the Mahindra XUV 7XO, in India. The latest October 2026 revision makes several petrol and diesel two-wheel-drive variants more expensive by up to ₹20,000.

AX7 Diesel Manual Gets the Highest Increase
Among the affected variants, the AX7 Diesel MT receives the largest price revision.
Its price has increased from ₹19.60 lakh to ₹19.80 lakh, representing a ₹20,000 increase.
Interestingly, Mahindra has not increased the price of the top-spec diesel AWD automatic variant.
This means the latest revision primarily affects customers shopping for two-wheel-drive configurations rather than the flagship AWD model.
Second Major Price Revision in 2026
The October revision follows an earlier increase in July 2026, when Mahindra raised XUV 7XO prices by as much as ₹88,000.
The SUV originally entered the Indian market in January 2026 at a starting price of ₹13.66 lakh.
Its current starting price of ₹13.99 lakh is ₹33,000 higher than the introductory entry price.
However, the cumulative increase differs substantially between variants, depending on how their prices changed during July and October.
The latest October adjustment is relatively modest compared with the earlier revision, but it adds to the overall acquisition cost for buyers considering selected mid- and higher-spec variants.
Mahindra XUV 7XO Engine and Transmission Options
The latest price revision does not bring any reported mechanical changes.
The SUV continues with two familiar powertrain options.
Specification | Petrol | Diesel |
Engine | 2.0L turbocharged | 2.2L turbocharged |
Maximum power | Approx. 200 PS | Up to approx. 185 PS |
Maximum torque | Up to 380 Nm | Up to 450 Nm |
Manual gearbox | 6-speed | 6-speed |
Automatic gearbox | 6-speed torque converter | 6-speed torque converter |
AWD option | No | Yes, select variants |
The petrol engine is focused on strong performance, while the diesel engine provides higher torque and the option of all-wheel drive on selected versions. The XUV 7XO continues to target customers looking for a feature-rich, three-row family SUV.
Key Features Remain Unchanged
Depending on the variant, the XUV 7XO offers:
Triple 12.3-inch digital-screen layout
Panoramic sunroof
Level 2 ADAS
540-degree camera system
Harman Kardon premium audio system
Ventilated seats
Powered front seats
Electronic stability control
Six airbags as standard
Seven airbags on selected higher variants
Six- and seven-seat configurations
The SUV also holds a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, strengthening its positioning among safety-conscious family buyers.
Does the Price Hike Affect the XUV 7XO's Value Proposition?
The Mahindra XUV 7XO competes in a segment that includes the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus. The latest increase is relatively small when viewed against the SUV's overall price.
However, buyers comparing closely priced variants could find the additional ₹10,000–₹20,000 significant, particularly after accounting for registration charges, insurance and other on-road expenses.
The unchanged starting and flagship AWD prices help Mahindra maintain its advertised entry-level affordability and premium diesel AWD positioning.
Customers with existing bookings should confirm the applicable invoice price and any
price-protection terms with their dealership.

Auto Punditz Take
The October 2026 price increase is another incremental upward adjustment for the Mahindra XUV 7XO.
Unlike the broader July revision, the latest increase is largely concentrated on selected two-wheel-drive petrol and diesel variants.
The most notable development is the ₹20,000 increase on the AX7 Diesel MT, while Mahindra has protected the ₹13.99 lakh entry price and ₹25.79 lakh flagship AWD price.
From a competitive standpoint, the XUV 7XO continues to offer a compelling combination of engine performance, cabin technology, safety equipment and seating flexibility.
However, repeated price increases could gradually reduce the price advantage of certain variants against competing three-row SUVs.
For customers already planning to purchase the XUV 7XO, the latest revision is unlikely to fundamentally change the SUV's appeal. Buyers should nevertheless compare the revised on-road price with equivalent variants of the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus before making a decision.
