Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad PRO Launched in India at ₹3.80 Crore
Mercedes-Benz has launched the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad PRO in India, with prices starting at ₹3.80 crore, ex-showroom. Announced on September 23, 2026, the variant combines the G 63’s V8 performance with specialised off-road controls, a roof luggage rack and a distinct wheel package.
The company says India will receive limited units, although it has not disclosed the allocation size or a delivery schedule. For Mercedes-Benz, the launch adds another specialised offering to its top-end portfolio, giving G-Class buyers a version with a stronger emphasis on off-road equipment.

What Does the Offroad PRO Version Add?
The main focus is the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, which combines adaptive damping with active hydraulic roll stabilisation. Mercedes-Benz says the system can support greater axle articulation on uneven terrain while also controlling body movement.
Two off-road functions allow drivers to tailor its behaviour more closely to the surface beneath the vehicle.
AMG Active Balance Control provides three stages of roll-stiffness adjustment across the off-road drive programmes. This gives the driver a choice of suspension settings to suit prevailing conditions, rather than relying on a single fixed response.
AMG Traction PRO works in the Rock and Sand programmes, controlling braking torque at individual wheels. It also offers seven selectable locking levels. Mercedes-Benz says the system can help the vehicle regain movement when bogged down, including in deep sand. These are manufacturer claims; actual performance will depend on the terrain, tyres and driving inputs.
The exterior equipment includes a PROFESSIONAL roof luggage rack with continuous aluminium panels and a removable rear ladder. The variant also gets matte-black 20-inch AMG wheels with a diamond-turned rim flange, wearing 275/50 R20 tyres.
Together, these changes give the Offroad PRO a functional equipment story alongside its more rugged appearance.
V8 Performance With Mild-Hybrid Assistance
Power comes from a handcrafted 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 850Nm of torque. The India release lists output at 430kW, described as 585hp, while the 48V integrated starter-generator can provide an additional 15kW of assistance at lower engine speeds.
That electric boost is listed separately from the engine’s rated output and should not be treated as a continuously available combined power figure.
Mercedes-Benz quotes a 4.4-second sprint from 0–100km/h and an electronically limited 240km/h top speed. The Offroad PRO therefore retains the G 63’s performance credentials while placing greater emphasis on how the vehicle manages challenging surfaces.
Cabin Features and Off-Road Displays
The cabin features Nappa leather upholstery, configurable ambient lighting and the MBUX NTG7 infotainment system. Equipment includes 12.3-inch driver and multimedia displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and augmented-reality navigation.
An off-road cockpit presents information such as vehicle positioning, steering angle, altitude, tyre pressure and differential-lock status. A selectable Transparent Hood camera function helps the driver inspect the terrain immediately ahead of the vehicle.
Other listed features include an 18-speaker, 760W Burmester 3D surround-sound system, acoustic glass, a 360-degree camera, active brake assist and lane-keeping assist.

The limited allocation also fits Mercedes-Benz’s stated focus on its top-end business. However, the announcement does not disclose sales targets, the number of vehicles allotted to India or delivery timing, so it cannot establish the likely scale of demand.
