JSW MG Motor India is celebrating seven years of the MG Hector in the Indian market with a special anniversary programme, offering customers benefits of up to ₹60,000 throughout August 2026.
The Hector holds particular significance for MG in India. Launched in 2019, it was the brand’s first product in the country and helped establish MG in the highly competitive Indian passenger vehicle market.
Seven years later, JSW MG Motor India is marking the milestone with a combination of discounts, loyalty incentives and financing options aimed at making the Hector more attractive during the build-up to India's festive season.

MG Hector 7th Anniversary Benefits
Customers booking a new MG Hector during August 2026 can avail benefits of up to ₹60,000.
The anniversary package comprises:
Anniversary discounts
Exchange bonuses
Loyalty rewards
Corporate offers
The exact benefit applicable to a customer may vary depending on the variant selected and eligibility for individual schemes.
Beyond the ₹60,000 benefit package, MG is also offering financing options designed to reduce the initial cost of purchasing the SUV.
Customers can opt for up to 100% on-road price funding, with loan tenures extending to 84 months, or seven years.
MG is additionally offering 100% funding support for accessories, further reducing the upfront expenditure for eligible buyers.
MG Hector Prices Start at ₹11.99 Lakh
The Hector currently starts at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning the large SUV aggressively against several smaller midsize SUVs.
The pricing strategy is important because the Hector offers a substantially larger footprint and spacious cabin while overlapping with several popular SUVs in the ₹12 lakh-₹20 lakh price bracket.
The current Hector range extends to around ₹20 lakh ex-showroom, depending on the variant.
Current Hector Gets 1.5-Litre Turbo Petrol Engine
Following its latest update, the Hector is currently offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing around 143 hp.
Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual gearbox and CVT automatic.
The Hector family also caters to buyers looking for different seating configurations, with the Hector/Hector Plus range covering five-, six- and seven-seat layouts.
Hector Remains One of MG's Most Important Models in India
When MG entered India in 2019, the Hector became one of the early mainstream SUVs to make connected-car technology a central part of its marketing proposition.
Its original "Internet Inside" positioning helped differentiate the Hector at a time when connected-car features were still relatively uncommon in mass-market vehicles.
The SUV subsequently received multiple updates, including a significant refresh that brought a much larger 14-inch portrait-oriented infotainment system, updated styling and advanced driver-assistance technologies on higher variants.
A further update arrived towards the end of 2025, bringing styling and equipment changes while MG adopted more aggressive pricing for the SUV.
The Hector's importance goes beyond sales alone. It effectively introduced the MG brand to Indian buyers and laid the foundation for the company's subsequent portfolio expansion.
MG later added products including the Astor, ZS EV, Comet EV and Windsor EV, while the premium MG Select network expanded the company's presence further upmarket.
Seven Years at an Important Time for MG
The Hector's seventh anniversary arrives at an interesting stage in JSW MG Motor India's journey.
The Indian SUV market has changed dramatically since the Hector arrived in 2019. Competition has intensified, while buyers now have significantly more choices across petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains.
Models including the Mahindra XUV700/XUV 7XO and Tata Harrier have strengthened competition in the Hector's broader price segment, while increasingly feature-rich midsize SUVs are also competing for the same customers.
Against this backdrop, MG's combination of anniversary discounts and long-tenure financing could help the Hector appeal to customers prioritising cabin space, features and purchase value.
JSW MG Motor India on the Hector Milestone
Commenting on the anniversary, Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said that the Hector's seven-year journey had helped the company earn the trust of thousands of Indian families.
According to the company, the anniversary programme has been designed not simply as a discount initiative but as an ownership proposition providing customers additional value when purchasing the SUV.
Auto Punditz Take
Seven years is an important milestone for the Hector because the SUV essentially created MG's identity in India.
The market it operates in, however, is considerably more competitive today than it was in 2019.
MG's response has increasingly been to sharpen the Hector's value proposition. A starting price of ₹11.99 lakh puts a large SUV within reach of buyers who might otherwise be considering smaller midsize SUVs, while the latest ₹60,000 anniversary benefits further strengthen that positioning.
The 100% on-road funding and up to seven-year loan tenure could prove equally significant. Rather than focusing exclusively on cash discounts, MG appears to be targeting the affordability of the overall purchase.
There is another interesting dimension to the timing. JSW MG Motor India is preparing for further expansion of its SUV and electrified-vehicle portfolio, making the Hector's seventh anniversary a reminder of just how much the company has evolved since its first Indian product arrived in 2019.
For buyers already considering the Hector, August 2026 could therefore be one of the more attractive periods to negotiate a deal, although customers should compare the final dealer-level offer, financing cost and variant-specific benefits before making a purchase decision.
