MG Hector Tomahawk EV Spied Undisguised During TVC Shoot; Launch Appears Closer

JSW MG Motor India’s upcoming three-row electric SUV has been spotted completely undisguised in Pune, revealing what appears to be the production-ready design of the much-awaited model likely to be called the MG Hector Tomahawk EV.
The electric SUV was reportedly photographed during what appears to be a television commercial shoot at Magarpatta City in Pune. With manufacturers typically conducting promotional shoots close to a vehicle’s official unveiling or launch, the latest development suggests MG could be preparing to introduce its new flagship mass-market electric SUV soon.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV: Production Design Revealed
Unlike the heavily concealed teasers released previously, the latest undisguised sighting provides a clear look at the SUV's exterior.
The front fascia adopts a relatively upright and clean design suitable for a large three-row SUV. A prominent MG badge sits centrally, while slim horizontal LED daytime running lamps stretch towards either side.
The primary headlamp assemblies are positioned vertically towards the outer edges of the front bumper, creating a split-lighting arrangement that has become increasingly common on newer SUVs.
A sizeable lower air intake with horizontal detailing further adds visual width to the front profile.
Importantly, MG appears to have stayed away from an excessively coupe-like or futuristic design. Instead, the upcoming EV retains relatively conventional SUV proportions, potentially improving practicality and interior space.
Long Wheelbase and Three-Row Layout
The side profile highlights the significant dimensions of the upcoming electric SUV.
A long wheelbase, extended rear overhang and large glass area indicate that MG has prioritised passenger accommodation, particularly for occupants seated in the second and third rows.
Visible exterior elements include:

Roof rails
Prominent black wheel-arch cladding
Dual-tone alloy wheels
Contrasting dark roof and pillars
The vehicle spotted during the shoot was finished in a light green exterior shade with contrasting black styling elements.
Earlier teasers from MG had already confirmed that the upcoming model would feature a three-row cabin, putting it into one of the fastest-emerging segments of India's EV market.
Rear Design Gets Slim LED Lighting
Although the rear was not photographed as clearly as the front and side sections, the images reveal a slim horizontal tail-lamp arrangement extending towards the edges of the vehicle.
The design appears consistent with MG's earlier teaser campaign.
The SUV's sizeable D-pillar and large third-row quarter glass reinforce its practical three-row positioning rather than adopting the sharply sloping rooflines increasingly seen on premium electric SUVs.
Hector Tomahawk Name Likely
MG has not formally announced the final production name of its upcoming electric SUV.
However, the company has reportedly trademarked the Hector Tomahawk name in India.
MG's recent teaser campaign also featured a Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk fighter aircraft alongside the upcoming SUV, making the Hector Tomahawk branding increasingly likely for the production vehicle.
Interestingly, using the Hector name could allow MG to leverage one of its best-known nameplates in India while creating a distinct electric SUV positioned above its current EV portfolio.
First MG Model Based on ADAPT Architecture
One of the most important aspects of the upcoming SUV is its underlying platform.
The Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to become the first India-bound production vehicle based on MG's new ADAPT modular architecture.
The architecture is designed to accommodate multiple electrified powertrain configurations, potentially including:
Battery electric vehicles
Plug-in hybrids
Strong hybrids
Range-extender electric vehicles
The first model arriving in India, however, is expected to be offered as a pure battery-electric vehicle.

While MG has yet to release final India-spec technical specifications, the upcoming electric SUV could share several components with the globally available Wuling Starlight 560.

Its three-row configuration will also differentiate it from most current mainstream electric SUVs, which largely remain five-seaters.
Mahindra XEV 9S Could Be a Key Rival
The Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to compete in the emerging three-row premium electric SUV segment.
One of its most direct upcoming competitors could be the Mahindra XEV 9S, while its positioning may also overlap with other premium electric SUVs depending on MG's eventual pricing strategy.
Pricing will therefore be critical.
