MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition Launched at ₹17.89 Lakh – Gets Rear Entertainment Screen and Premium Cabin
JSW MG Motor India has launched the new Windsor EV Indulge Edition at ₹17.89 lakh ex-showroom. The special edition is based on the 38kWh version of the Windsor EV and focuses on adding more premium styling and rear-seat comfort rather than introducing any mechanical changes.
The Indulge Edition arrives as the Windsor EV completes two years in the Indian market and follows the earlier Inspire Edition. MG is using the new variant to further strengthen the Windsor’s positioning as a spacious, comfort-oriented electric crossover.

MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition Price
The new Windsor EV Indulge Edition is priced at ₹17.89 lakh, ex-showroom. It is based on the Essence trim and commands a premium of about ₹73,900 over the regular Essence variant. Bookings are already open through authorised MG dealerships and the company’s website.
New Shadow Gold Exterior
One of the biggest visual changes is the introduction of a new Shadow Gold exterior colour paired with a contrasting black roof.
MG has also added:
18-inch black alloy wheels
Gloss-black ORVMs
Indulge badging on the C-pillar
Additional exterior accessory elements
These changes give the Indulge Edition a more distinctive appearance compared with the standard Windsor EV.
Tan-and-Black Interior Theme
Inside, the Windsor EV Indulge Edition gets a new tan-and-black cabin theme.
The seats feature a more premium upholstery treatment, while the front headrests receive Indulge embroidery.
MG has also added branded neck cushions for front-seat occupants and pillows for rear passengers.
The overall objective appears to be making the Windsor feel more upmarket without fundamentally changing its cabin layout.
Roof-Mounted Rear Entertainment Screen
The biggest feature addition is a roof-mounted rear entertainment screen.
MG calls it the Prive Screen, and it is positioned in the centre of the panoramic glass roof for rear-seat passengers.
This feature is particularly relevant because the Windsor EV already places strong emphasis on rear-seat comfort. Its rear bench can recline by up to 135 degrees, giving the crossover a lounge-like seating experience.
The addition of the rear entertainment screen makes the Indulge Edition particularly interesting for families and chauffeur-driven owners.
Additional Indulge Edition Accessories
MG is also offering an Indulge Edition accessory package as standard.
The package reportedly includes:
Rear sunshade
Themed 3D floor mats
Chrome exterior accents
Front bumper corner protectors
Body-side mouldings
Leatherette key cover
These additions are largely cosmetic and convenience oriented.
No Mechanical Changes
The Windsor EV Indulge Edition remains mechanically unchanged.
It is available only with the smaller 38kWh battery pack.
Specification | MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition |
Battery | 38kWh |
Electric motor | Single motor |
Power | 136PS |
Torque | 200Nm |
Claimed range | 332km |
DC fast charging | 45kW |
The claimed driving range stands at 332km under the MIDC Part 1 + Part 2 cycle.
The 38kWh battery can reportedly be charged from 20–80% in around 45 minutes using a compatible 45kW DC fast charger.
Features Carried Over From the Windsor Essence
Apart from the Indulge-specific additions, the equipment list remains broadly similar to the Windsor Essence.
Key features include:
15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
8.8-inch digital instrument display
9-speaker Infinity audio system
Wireless phone charging
Automatic climate control
Panoramic glass roof
Electrically adjustable front seats
135-degree reclining rear seats
The Windsor’s emphasis on cabin space and comfort remains central to the Indulge Edition’s appeal.
Safety Equipment
The Windsor EV continues to offer a comprehensive safety package.
Key equipment includes:
Six airbags
360-degree camera
Electronic Stability Control
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
Hill Hold Assist
Rear parking sensors
Electronic parking brake
All-wheel disc brakes
Rain-sensing wipers
ISOFIX child-seat mounts
No major safety upgrades have been announced specifically for the Indulge Edition.
Windsor EV Has Crossed 80,000 Customers
The special edition also arrives at an important milestone for the Windsor.
JSW MG Motor India recently stated that the Windsor EV has crossed 80,000 customers in around two years, reinforcing its importance within MG’s electric vehicle portfolio.
That milestone explains why MG is continuing to introduce special editions around the Windsor rather than limiting it to the regular variant lineup.
How the Indulge Edition Fits Into the Windsor Range
The Indulge Edition is not designed to offer more range or performance.
Instead, MG has concentrated on three areas:
Styling: Shadow Gold paint, black roof and black alloy wheels.
Cabin ambience: Tan-and-black upholstery and additional premium accessories.
Rear-seat experience: Roof-mounted entertainment screen and comfort-oriented accessories.
That makes it a lifestyle-focused derivative rather than a performance or long-range variant.
Buyers who prioritise maximum driving range may still prefer the larger-battery Windsor EV Pro, while buyers looking for a more premium 38kWh Windsor may find the Indulge Edition more appealing.
Rivals
At ₹17.89 lakh, the Windsor EV Indulge Edition competes in an increasingly crowded electric-car market.
Potential alternatives include:
Tata Curvv EV
Hyundai Creta Electric
Mahindra BE 6
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV
MG ZS EV
However, the Windsor continues to differentiate itself through its spacious cabin and rear-seat-focused design.
Auto Punditz Take
The Windsor EV Indulge Edition is a clever update because MG has avoided simply adding cosmetic decals and calling it a special edition.
The roof-mounted rear entertainment screen, tan-and-black cabin and additional comfort accessories strengthen an area where the Windsor already stands out: rear-seat experience.
At the same time, the unchanged 38kWh battery and 332km claimed range mean the Indulge Edition is not the logical choice for buyers whose priority is maximum driving range.
Its appeal is therefore quite niche. For city dwellers who primarily use the Windsor, families on road trips or those who spend a lot of time in the rear seat, the additional ₹74,000 premium over the Essence might be more easily justified.
For everyone else, the standard Windsor variants maintain essentially the same electric performance. This Indulge Edition demonstrates MG’s effort to broaden the Windsor’s appeal without altering the core formula that has made it successful in India.
