Auto Punditz Analysis
The Tekton is Nissan India's most important product launch since the Magnite. By pricing the SUV aggressively from ₹10.49 lakh, Nissan has entered the heart of India's booming midsize SUV market with a product that combines bold styling, a premium feature list and strong safety credentials.
The wide 12-variant lineup allows Nissan to target both value-conscious buyers and premium SUV customers. While the lower variants are positioned to attract first-time midsize SUV buyers, the top-end Tekna+ T280 DCT at ₹18.59 lakhcompetes directly with the fully-loaded versions of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Volkswagen Taigun.
If Nissan can leverage competitive after-sales support, improve dealership reach and maintain attractive ownership costs, the Tekton could become the brand's strongest volume product in India in recent years.
