Segment-wise TOP 5 Cars for July: Compact SUV, SUV, MUV, Hatchback, Sedan, Premium Sedan and others
SUV sales have risen to an all-time high in the Indian market and almost all the OEMs have an offering in the SUV category. And Compact SUV has picked the fancy of the automakers as it has garnered tremendous volumes over the years. Do note that 10 out of 15 mass-market OEMs in India have a product in the Compact SUV category and all 15 out of 15 OEMs have an offering in the overall SUV category.
July'21 saw a tremendous surge in MUV volumes and was primarily driven by the growth of Ertiga and Innova! This segment is going to gain higher traction as OEMs like Kia (with KY) and Hyundai enter gradually. The growing popularity of 7 seater SUVs (Safari, Hector Plus, Alcazar, upcoming XUV700) is a testimony of how the Indian buyer wants a practical 7 seater for the family.
Compact Hatchback was the largest segment in terms of volumes and was marginally ahead of Compact SUVs.

The facelifted Honda Amaze is slated to be launched on 18th Aug and hopes to place the model back to the second position in the segment ranking table.
