Tesla Opens First Chennai Experience Centre, Expands Repair Support in Tamil Nadu
Tesla has expanded its presence in South India with the opening of its first Experience Centre in Chennai at Express Avenue Mall on Pattullos Road. The company has also added Tesla-approved collision repair and service capabilities in Poonamallee, strengthening local support for customers in Tamil Nadu.
Announced on September 25, 2026, the Chennai outlet becomes Tesla’s sixth Experience Centre in India and its third in South India, following Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Test Drives, Orders and Delivery Support
The Chennai Experience Centre allows prospective buyers to explore Tesla vehicles, receive consultations, take test drives and access vehicle delivery support locally.
With this addition, Tesla’s reported experience network covers Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. The new location expands access for customers evaluating the brand in Tamil Nadu.
Collision Repair Facility in Poonamallee
The Poonamallee facility complements the retail centre with access to genuine Tesla parts, trained technicians, software-aware diagnostics and approved collision repair processes.
While the Express Avenue location supports vehicle discovery and purchasing, the Poonamallee facility strengthens repair support after purchase. The announcement does not provide specific repair turnaround times or parts inventory levels.

Auto Punditz Take
Tesla’s Chennai expansion addresses two important stages of the buying journey: evaluating the vehicle and accessing support after purchase. A local Experience Centre gives buyers an opportunity to assess cabin space, seating comfort and everyday usability, while nearby repair support can help build ownership confidence.
The five-seat and six-seat configurations also give families distinct options to evaluate. An in-person visit becomes particularly useful when assessing third-row access and balancing passenger requirements against luggage space.
For Tesla, the commercial impact will depend on how effectively this expanded presence converts interest into deliveries. Registrations, parts availability, repair turnaround times and owner feedback will offer a clearer picture of progress than the number of outlets alone.
The Chennai opening strengthens Tesla’s local foundation. Consistent service and delivery execution will determine how much that foundation contributes to sustained demand.
