The Top 25 Selling Cars constituted over 76% of the cars sold in October 2021. It had 10 models from Maruti, 4 from Hyundai, 4 from Tata, 3 from Mahindra, 2 from Kia, and 1 from Toyota & Honda each. In terms of volumes, Maruti Suzuki models contributed to just over 52 percent volumes in the Top 25!
A major reshuffling has happened in the Top 10 selling cars. While only 5 Maruti models fared in the Top 10; 2 Tata models shot up in the Top 10 selling cars of October 2021. Kia & Hyundai had 1 model each in the Top 10.
OEMwise Count in the Top 25 selling cars -
Maruti had 10 models in the Top 25. On average; the volumes were 10,287 units per car.
Hyundai slipped to the third spot with only 4 models in the Top 25 and averaged 6,866 units per model.
Tata with 4 models in the list averaged 6,929 units per model (which is higher than Hyundai).
Kia had 2 offerings in the Top 25 and averaged 7,966 per model (which is still higher than Tata).
Even with 3 models in the top 25, Mahindra's overall volumes was lower than that of Kia.

Utility Vehicles dominated with 13 models (9 SUVs & 4 MUVs) in the Top 25 and combined volumes of over 97k units.
Hatchbacks had 9 models in the Top 25 and the sales in the segment is gradually slowing down.
Sedans had only 2 offerings in the Top 25 and the best-selling sedan was Maruti Dzire.

Maruti Alto emerged as the best-selling car for October 2021. It was followed by the siblings Baleno, Ertiga, and Wagon R in the Top 5 selling cars.
Hyundai Venue made an entry in the Top 5 and was also the best-selling Hyundai for October 2021. Venue also became the highest-selling SUV for October 2021 outselling the likes of Creta, Nexon, Seltos, etc.
Kia Seltos was able to cross the 10k mark and was the largest selling Mid SUV of October 2021.
Tata Nexon again crossed the 10k mark and was the best selling Tata model for October 2021. Also, Tata Punch entered the Top 10 selling cars in the launch month itself!
