Toyota Sales August 2026: 28,410 Units Dispatched; Fortuner Grows 40%, Glanza Falls 71%
Toyota recorded 28,410 units in August 2026, according to the supplied model-wise dispatch data. Volumes declined 3% year-on-year from 29,302 units in August 2025 and 7% month-on-month from 30,516 units in July 2026. The combined Innova and Hycross range remained Toyota’s largest volume contributor, followed by the Hyryder. Fortuner, Taisor and Rumion registered year-on-year gains, but a sharp fall in Glanza dispatches weighed on the overall result.

Innova + Hycross range recorded 8,963 units, down 4% from 9,304 units a year earlier. Dispatches also declined 10% compared with July’s 9,976 units. Despite the decline, the combined range retained its position as Toyota’s largest volume contributor.
Hyryder followed with 8,234 units, registering a 10% annual decline from 9,100 units. However, sequential performance improved, with volumes increasing by 1,047 units, or 15%, over July. Together, these two model lines contributed 17,197 units, accounting for 60.5% of Toyota’s August dispatches.
Fortuner dispatched 3,504 units, compared with 2,508 units in August 2025, translating into 40% YoY growth. It added 996 units over the year-earlier month and registered a 10% increase over July’s 3,189 units.
Taisor recorded 2,863 units, up 7% from 2,683 units in August 2025. Sequentially, dispatches increased 16% from 2,470 units.
Rumion recorded 2,396 units, against just 68 units in August 2025. Its 3,424% YoY growth therefore needs to be viewed in the context of the exceptionally low comparison base.
The Glanza recorded 1,480 units, down 71% YoY from 5,102 units and 67% MoM from 4,461 units.
Ebella dispatches reached 372 units, increasing 31% from July’s 283 units. With zero units recorded in August 2025, a conventional annual growth percentage cannot be calculated.
Hilux recorded 285 units, up 10% YoY. Its 2,092% sequential increase came against July’s small base of just 13 units.
Camry posted 195 units, growing 23% annually but declining 5% sequentially. Vellfire dispatches stood at 79 units, down 24% YoY and up 10% MoM.
LC300 recorded 39 units, compared with 15 units a year earlier and 28 units in July. Its 160% annual growth represented an absolute increase of 24 units.
Auto Punditz Take
Toyota’s August performance was mixed, with the overall decline masking growth across several model lines. Fortuner and Taisor improved on both comparisons, while Hyryder registered a sequential recovery. Innova and Hycross remained the largest combined contributor despite lower dispatches.
Glanza was the biggest drag on the monthly tally. Whether its volumes recover, alongside sustained contributions from Toyota’s larger-volume models, will be central to the next monthly comparison. Retail registration data would provide further context on how these dispatch movements translate into customer deliveries.
