Volkswagen Virtus: Virtus led with 1,172 units, contributing 52.8% of Volkswagen’s monthly volume. Sales fell 29% from 1,648 units a year earlier and 10% from 1,301 units in August. Its 476-unit annual decline accounted for nearly 85% of the brand’s net YoY volume reduction.
Volkswagen Taigun: Taigun ranked second with 994 units, down 11% from 1,114 units in September 2025. However, volumes increased 6% from 938 units in August, partially offsetting Virtus’ monthly decline. Taigun contributed 44.8% of Volkswagen’s September sales.
Volkswagen Tayron: Tayron recorded 49 units, up 17% from 42 units in August. With zero units in the year-ago comparison period, a percentage-based YoY growth rate cannot be calculated.
Volkswagen Tiguan: Tiguan recorded 2 units, compared with 17 units in September 2025, translating into an 88% decline. Volumes were unchanged from August.
Volkswagen Golf: Golf recorded 1 unit, matching September 2025. August volumes were zero, so MoM percentage growth is not applicable.

Auto Punditz Take
Virtus and Taigun together contributed 97.7% of Volkswagen’s September 2026 volumes, underlining the brand’s dependence on these two models. Taigun’s sequential improvement helped cushion the monthly decline, but lower sales of both core models compared with September 2025 pulled the overall tally down by a fifth.
