India's compact SUV market crossed 8 lakh units during April–September 2026, registering 28% growth. Tata Motors led with a 29% share, powered by Punch and Nexon, while Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra secured the next two positions.

India’s sub-4m SUV segment recorded 1,21,391 units in August 2026, up 40.9% YoY. Tata Punch led with 21,320 units, followed closely by Maruti Fronx and Tata Nexon.
