Maruti Suzuki has officially taken the wraps off the first teaser of the updated 2026 Brezza, confirming that one of India’s highest-selling compact SUVs is set to receive its biggest upgrade since the second-generation model debuted in 2022. The company has also commenced official bookings across Nexa dealerships and online, with the launch scheduled for 24 July 2026.
The refreshed Brezza aims to strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s position in India’s fiercely competitive sub-4 metre SUV segment, where it competes against rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq.
Familiar Design, Sharper Presence
While the teaser only offers a glimpse of the SUV, it confirms that the 2026 Brezza retains its familiar upright proportions while introducing a more contemporary look.
Expected exterior highlights include:
Redesigned LED headlamps with a sharper lighting signature
Revised front grille and bumper
Updated LED tail lamps
New dual-tone alloy wheel design
Fresh exterior colour options
Minor revisions to skid plates and body cladding
Rather than a complete redesign, Maruti appears to have focused on making the Brezza look more premium without altering its proven silhouette.
Cabin Set for a Major Technology Upgrade
The interior is expected to receive the most significant improvements.
Industry reports suggest the updated Brezza could feature:
Larger floating touchscreen infotainment system
Fully digital instrument cluster
360-degree surround-view camera
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
Wireless smartphone charging
Ventilated front seats
Connected car technology
Panoramic or larger electric sunroof (variant dependent)
Enhanced ambient lighting
If these upgrades make it to production, the Brezza will narrow the equipment gap with newer rivals that have raised customer expectations in this segment.
Powertrain: Proven Petrol, Possible Turbo Surprise
Maruti Suzuki is expected to continue offering the trusted 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid petrol engine, paired with:
5-speed manual transmission
6-speed torque converter automatic
Factory-fitted CNG variants are also expected to continue, given their strong demand among private buyers and fleet operators.
There has also been industry speculation regarding the introduction of a new 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine on select variants. However, Maruti Suzuki has not officially confirmed this, so it remains speculative until launch.
Safety Expected to Improve Further
Maruti has been steadily expanding safety equipment across its portfolio, and the updated Brezza is likely to benefit from that strategy.
Expected safety features include:
Six airbags as standard
Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
Hill Hold Assist
ABS with EBD
ISOFIX child-seat mounts
360-degree camera
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
These additions would help the Brezza remain competitive as safety becomes an increasingly important purchase criterion for Indian buyers.
Bookings Officially Underway
Customers can now reserve the new Brezza through authorised Maruti Suzuki dealerships or the company’s official online booking platform with a booking amount of ₹11,000. Deliveries are expected to begin soon after the official price announcement later this month.

Auto Punditz Take
The Brezza has consistently ranked among India’s best-selling SUVs by combining reliability, strong resale value, efficient powertrains and Maruti Suzuki’s unmatched service network. However, competitors have rapidly advanced in terms of technology and premium features over the past few years.
The 2026 update appears focused on addressing those shortcomings without changing the SUV’s core strengths. If Maruti Suzuki prices the refreshed Brezza competitively while delivering the expected feature additions, it could reinforce its position as one of the segment’s benchmark offerings and continue attracting both first-time SUV buyers and existing Maruti customers looking to upgrade.
