2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift Unveiled in India – Gets 8-Speed Automatic, 360-Degree Camera & Rear Massage Seats

Skoda Auto has officially taken the wraps off the 2026 Slavia facelift in India, giving its midsize sedan a comprehensive mid-life update with refreshed styling, more technology and a significant mechanical upgrade. Pre-bookings for the new Slavia have commenced at ₹15,000, while the official variant-wise prices are yet to be announced.

The updated Slavia continues with the familiar 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, but the smaller engine now receives a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, replacing the outgoing 6-speed automatic. Skoda has also substantially expanded the equipment list with features such as a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, larger digital instrument cluster and rear-seat massage function.

2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift – What’s New?

Rather than completely reinventing the Slavia, Skoda has focused on addressing some of the areas where newer rivals had moved ahead on equipment.

The facelift brings an updated exterior design supported by an all-LED lighting package, while the cabin receives several technology and convenience upgrades. The overall approach appears similar to the recently updated Kushaq, with Skoda retaining the core strengths of the existing platform while adding features increasingly expected by buyers in this segment.

New 8-Speed Automatic Is the Biggest Mechanical Upgrade

The most important powertrain change is reserved for the Slavia's 1.0-litre TSI engine.

The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine continues to produce around 113 bhp and 178 Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox remains available, but the existing 6-speed torque-converter automatic has now been replaced by a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

This should become one of the facelift's biggest selling points. The additional ratios could potentially allow Skoda to offer a better balance between city driveability, highway cruising and fuel efficiency, though the final certified fuel-efficiency figures will need to be evaluated separately.

The larger 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI continues with approximately 148 bhp and 250 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. Skoda also continues to equip the 1.5 TSI version with rear disc brakes.

Slavia Finally Gets a 360-Degree Camera

Feature additions are arguably even more important than the cosmetic revisions.

The facelifted Slavia now gets a 360-degree surround-view camera, a feature that has become increasingly popular among buyers of premium compact and midsize cars.

Skoda has also added Park Pilot with front parking sensors, improving convenience while manoeuvring the sedan in tight spaces.

Other newly confirmed equipment includes:

  • 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster

  • 360-degree camera

  • Front parking sensors with Park Pilot

  • Rear-seat massage function

  • Rain-sensing wipers

  • Auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror

  • Rear defogger

  • Electric sunroof

  • All-LED lighting

  • Alloy wheels

Rear-Seat Massage Function Added

One of the more unusual additions is a rear-seat massage function.

It is a feature rarely seen in this segment and indicates that Skoda is trying to improve the Slavia's appeal not merely as a driver's sedan, but also as a more comfortable chauffeur-driven car.

Considering how important rear-seat comfort remains for Indian midsize-sedan buyers, this could become a useful differentiator against the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus.

10.1-inch Infotainment System Gets AI-Based Voice Assistant

The Slavia facelift continues with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, but Skoda has added a significantly more sophisticated voice-assistant experience.

The system uses Google Cloud's Automotive AI Agent with Gemini-based capabilities, allowing occupants to interact with the car using voice commands.

Besides conventional functions such as music, calls and climate control, the system can also provide information such as news and other contextual queries.

This could become one of the more interesting technology additions to the updated Slavia, although its real-world usefulness will depend on how seamlessly the system operates in Indian driving conditions.

Six Variants Confirmed

Skoda will offer the facelifted Slavia across six variants:

  1. Classic

  2. Classic+

  3. Signature

  4. Sportline

  5. Prestige

  6. Monte Carlo

Importantly, the Monte Carlo will form part of the range right from the beginning rather than being introduced later as a special derivative.

The expanded variant hierarchy should allow Skoda to position the sedan across a wider price band while giving buyers clearer differentiation between mainstream, sporty and premium versions.

New Colours Added

The updated Slavia will be offered with an extensive colour palette including:

  • Candy White

  • Carbon Steel

  • Brilliant Silver

  • Lava Blue

  • Deep Black

  • Cherry Red

  • Shimla Green

  • Steel Grey

  • Arctic Silver – New

  • Cappuccino Beige – New

The addition of Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige gives buyers two new choices alongside the existing colours.

2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift Price

Skoda has not announced the official prices of the 2026 Slavia facelift yet.

This is important because several online listings are currently showing estimated price ranges for the car. These should not be treated as official launch prices until Skoda releases its variant-wise price list.

Pre-bookings, however, have started at ₹15,000.

Auto Punditz Take

The Slavia facelift appears to address one of the biggest weaknesses of the outgoing model — its relatively conservative feature list compared with some newer rivals.

A 360-degree camera, larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, front parking sensors, rear-seat massage function and AI-assisted infotainment make the sedan substantially more competitive from an equipment perspective.

More importantly, the new 8-speed torque-converter automatic paired with the 1.0 TSI could become the facelift's key differentiator.

The Slavia has traditionally appealed to buyers prioritising strong turbo-petrol performance, highway dynamics and European driving characteristics. With the facelift, Skoda appears to be adding the technology and convenience features needed to broaden that appeal.

The final piece of the puzzle will be pricing.

If Skoda can keep the increase over the outgoing Slavia under control, the facelift should strengthen its position against the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus in India's midsize-sedan segment. The outgoing Slavia was priced from around ₹10 lakh to ₹18.19 lakh before the facelift, giving an indication of the territory in which the updated model will have to compete.

Official variant-wise prices are awaited and will determine how aggressively Skoda has positioned the extensively upgraded Slavia.
