Hybrid Technology Continues Across the Range

The mechanical and efficiency-focused package remains an important part of Yamaha's 125cc scooter strategy.

Both the RayZR and Fascino are equipped with Yamaha's Smart Motor Generator (SMG) Hybrid Technology, along with Enhanced Power Assist.

Other features listed by Yamaha include:

  • Silent Start System

  • Stop & Start System

  • Telescopic front suspension

  • 21-litre under-seat storage

  • Side-stand engine cut-off

  • E20 fuel compatibility

  • Smartphone connectivity

The Fascino S and RayZR Street Rally additionally offer a Colour TFT display with Turn-

by-Turn Navigation and Answer Back functionality, strengthening their connected-scooter credentials.

More Focus on Premiumisation

The latest update does not fundamentally change Yamaha's 125cc scooter formula. Instead, the company is using colours, graphics and connected technology to make the products more appealing to younger customers.

The RayZR continues to carry a sportier and more aggressive identity, while the Fascino targets customers looking for a more stylish and premium-looking urban scooter.

The addition of a TFT screen and navigation to selected variants also reflects the increasing importance of digital features even in India's mass-market scooter segment.

Auto Punditz Take

Yamaha's 2026 update is largely an exercise in keeping the RayZR 125 and Fascino 125 fresh in an increasingly competitive scooter market.

The new colours should help improve showroom appeal, but the more meaningful addition is the TFT instrument cluster with navigation on the RayZR Street Rally. Connectivity features are steadily becoming an important differentiator in the scooter segment, particularly among younger buyers.

With prices ranging from ₹78,980 to ₹1,00,440 ex-showroom Delhi, Yamaha now has a relatively broad spread of variants catering to buyers looking for everything from an affordable hybrid scooter to a more premium and connected offering.

All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
