Jeep has been in India for quite some time now and has seen a good response from Indian consumers. Taking this view Jeep India has shown intent towards launching newer models and expand in the Indian marketplace. The manufacturer will be launching 4 new models in the upcoming months in order to add more options to their catalog of available products. These products are on the way and will be launching over the coming 18 months.
The Managing Director of Jeep India, Partha Datta stated that a compact SUV as well as a seven-seater SUV are currently in development and that team Jeep are working day and night on these projects. Not just this Jeep will also be looking at the expansion of its dealership network which hopefully be doubled over the next 24 months. Jeep India is aiming to reach the point of market share which it had in 2018.
Recently after launching the facelift Compass, Jeep opened pre-bookings for the Wrangler which would be put to sale on the 15th of March 2021. The Jeep Wrangler as well as the Grand Cherokee would be locally assembled after coming in after being completely built up at Ranjangaon facility. The axles and the engines will be assembled locally while the sub-assemblies of parts and components will be done by a foreign supplier.
