Lockdown in several parts of the country hit the automobile sales in May 2021 and even Bajaj Auto wasn't shielded from it. While Bajaj Two Wheeler's domestic sales dipped 52 percent MoM; the OEM was able to divert the production towards exports and the exports dropped by just 19 percent.
Bajaj Auto's exports strategy is working in favour of the automaker in these tough times - As the domestic market is reeling with Covid related issues; Export Markets have been stable and the same is reflecting in the OEMs volumes. Bajaj Export volumes contribution shot up from 65 percent in Apr'21 to 77 percent in May'21.
