Best Selling Cars in India for FY2025

Maruti Wagon R was the best selling car of FY2025 (Apr'24-Mar'25). Tata Motors punch ranked a close second and was 1,879 units behind Wagon R. Do note that Punch was the Numero Uno selling car of CY2024 and slipped to second position by the end of financial year. Maruti Suzuki dominated the Top 10 list with 7 models in the chart and was followed by Tata, Hyundai and Mahindra with 1 model each.

Hyundai Creta was the best selling Mid SUV in the list and had an impressive run in FY2025. Do note that in March 2025, it was India's best-selling car and the electric iteration of the model has strengthened its overall volumes. MUV growth was reflected in Ertiga's volumes and the model ranked fourth in the list. Maruti has been steeply gaining volumes from the CNG models and has primarily aided the volumes of Wagon R, Ertiga and Dzire. The models are predominantly doing well in the Tour/Taxi avatar as well due to the CNG availability.

Mahindra's highest-selling car of FY2025 was Scorpio. The Scorpio Classic and ScorpioN combined sold over 1.64 Lakh units and ranked 10th in the list. The sheer brand acceptance of Scorpio has gained over years and has been the strongest cash cow in Mahindra's lineup.
