Best Selling Cars of 2025

• Maruti Dzire became the best-selling car in 2025, followed by the Hyundai Creta

• Tata Punch dropped to No.10 in 2025, from its No.1 position in 2024

• SUV and crossover body-style products are now the majority in the top 10 ranking

• Mahindra Scorpio is the most expensive product in the top 10 ranking

• Maruti Dzire new generation (2024) became the best-selling car in 2025. Growth was driven by a 32% surge in sales of its CNG variants, which now account for 56% of sales. The CNG variant is very popular among taxi and fleet operators, but the Dzire remains equally desirable among personal car buyers as 4^th generation of Dzire now comes with the option of a sunroof and a 5-Star BNCAP safety rating.

• Hyundai Creta facelift (2024) became the 2^nd best-selling car in India due to its all-rounder attributes. Growth was primarily driven by 21% higher sales of the diesel Creta, followed by an additional 8,057 units from the EV version.

• Tata Nexon became the 3^rd best-selling car in India. Growth was primarily driven by the innovative dual-tank CNG version, which brought in an additional 49,190 units.

• Maruti Ertiga is the only MUV among the top best-selling cars in India. 72% of its sales are contributed by the CNG version, which is highly popular among taxi and fleet operators. The CNG version witnessed 15% growth in 2025.

• Tata Punch, due to its SUV silhouette and multiple drivetrain options, became the best-selling car in 2024. However, a steep fall in Punch EV (-29%) and CNG (-13%) sales, along with an impending facelift for the ICE version, resulted in a massive drop in volume and rank.

• Mahindra Scorpio is the most expensive product in the top 10 ranking, marking the journey of the Indian consumer from affordable to aspirational products. 95% of Scorpio sales comes from 2.2L diesel powertrain.

• SUV and crossover body-style products are now the majority in the top 10 ranking, and hatchbacks have been reduced to only 2 positions.
