Honda recorded 5,385 units in domestic dispatches in August 2026, registering 40% year-on-year growth over 3,850 units in August 2025. However, volumes declined 10% month-on-month from 6,014 units in July 2026. The Amaze drove Honda’s annual growth, doubling its dispatches and accounting for nearly two-thirds of the brand’s monthly total. The Elevate, City and ZR-V all recorded lower volumes compared with July.

  • Amaze remained Honda’s largest volume contributor, with 3,512 units dispatched in August 2026. This represented an increase of 1,759 units over the 1,753 units recorded a year earlier. Compared with July’s 3,436 units, dispatches rose by 76 units, translating into approximately 2% growth. The Amaze was the only Honda model to register a month-on-month increase in the supplied data. Its contribution reached 65.2% of Honda’s August dispatches. The Amaze’s annual volume gain also exceeded Honda’s overall increase of 1,535 units, highlighting its role in offsetting weakness elsewhere in the portfolio.

  • Elevate recorded 1,326 units, compared with 1,660 units in August 2025, a decline of 20%. The sequential drop was sharper, with dispatches falling by 623 units from July’s 1,949 units—a 32% month-on-month decline. This was the largest absolute monthly reduction among Honda’s models and accounted for almost all of the brand’s net decline of 629 units.

  • Despite the decline, the Elevate remained Honda’s second-largest contributor, representing 24.6% of total dispatches.

  • The City registered 514 units in August 2026, up 18% from 437 units in the same month last year. However, dispatches fell 10% compared with July’s 571 units. The City contributed approximately 9.5% of Honda’s monthly total.

  • Together, the Amaze and City accounted for 4,026 units, or 74.8% of Honda’s August dispatches, underlining the importance of sedans to the brand’s current volume mix.

  • The ZR-V recorded 33 units, down from 58 units in July 2026, representing a 43% sequential decline.

Auto Punditz Take

Honda’s August performance shows strong annual growth concentrated in a single model. The Amaze delivered both year-on-year and month-on-month gains, while the Elevate’s decline weighed heavily on the overall sequential result. The 40% YoY increase is encouraging, but the 10% monthly decline shows that growth was not consistent across the portfolio. A recovery in Elevate volumes, alongside sustained Amaze performance, would help broaden Honda’s volume base.
