Indian Tractor Sales Figures for June 2021 - Mahindra, TAFE, Sonalika

The total domestic tractor dispatches were 1,10,442 units in June 2021 against 92,884 units in June 2020. Tractor dispatches increased by 18.9 percent in June’21 when compared to June’20.


The second wave of Covid-19 has shaken the entire automobile industry and even tractors weren’t shielded from it. Covid has not only unsettled urban but also the rural markets this time around. However; the tractor industry has sustained the growth momentum. Timely monsoon, increase in MSP rates for key Kharif crops, and strong Government support to all Agri activities are giving very strong momentum to tractor demand.

  • Mahindra & Mahindra recorded Domestic Wholesale dispatches of 46,875 units in June 2021, as against 35,844 units during June 2020. It anyhow recorded the highest Market Share gain in June'21 v/s June'20. Its Market Share rose to 42.4% in June’21 from 38.5% in June’20.

  • TAFE registered an increase of 12.9% to 21,540 units in June 2021 from 19,084 units in June 2020 and was the second-best tractor manufacturer for the month. It recorded a Market Share of 19.5% in June’21 v/s 20.5% in June’20.

  • International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) saw a YoY decline of over 5% and registered dispatches of 12,881 units in June 2021 against 13,690 units in June 2020. Sonalika also saw one of the highest Market Share drops in June 2021.

  • Escorts sales were 11,956 units in June 2021 from 10,623 units in June 2020. The volumes grew 12.5% YoY and Market Share fell by 0.61%.

  • John Deere Market Share shot up to 7.5% in June 2021 from 6.3% in June 2020. John Deere had a fabulous month and the sales increased by a stellar 41% YoY.

  • New Holland dispatches fell to 3,315 units in June 2021 from 3,845 units in June 2020.

  • Kubota, Indo Farm, Preet, and Force were able to marginally increase their Market Share. While VST, SDF, Captain, and Ace lost Market Share in June 2021 v/s June 2020.
