Kia India has been recognised among India’s Best Workplaces™ in Automotive 2026 by Great Place To Work® India, reinforcing the company’s growing reputation not just as a successful automobile manufacturer but also as an employer focused on employee engagement, workplace culture and leadership development. The recognition follows Kia India’s second consecutive Great Place To Work® Certification™, achieved earlier this year.
According to the assessment, Kia India achieved a 76% Trust Indexâ„¢ score, with an impressive 93% employee participation, indicating high levels of confidence and engagement among its workforce. The evaluation measures employee experience across key parameters such as credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

Employee Culture Becoming a Competitive Advantage
While product innovation, technology and manufacturing efficiency often dominate discussions in the automotive industry, talent retention and employee satisfaction have become equally critical as automakers compete for skilled professionals in areas such as electrification, connected mobility and software development.
Kia India’s recognition reflects the company’s continued investment in:
Leadership development programmes
Employee learning and upskilling initiatives
Workplace wellbeing
Open communication platforms
Collaborative work culture
These initiatives are aimed at creating an environment where employees are encouraged to innovate while contributing to long-term business growth.
Leadership Perspective
Commenting on the achievement, Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, credited employees for the company’s success, stating that its people have been the driving force behind Kia India’s growth journey. He added that the recognition reflects a culture built on continuous learning, mutual respect and empowerment.
Balbir Singh, CEO of Great Place To Work® India, noted that Kia India has established a workplace culture rooted in trust, collaboration and employee care, setting a benchmark within the automotive sector.
Strong Business Growth Supports Employer Brand
The workplace recognition comes at a time when Kia India continues to strengthen its position in the Indian passenger vehicle market.
Since commencing production at its Anantapur manufacturing facility in 2019, Kia India has:
Dispatched nearly 1.9 million vehicles
Recorded over 1.5 million domestic sales
Exported more than 367,000 vehicles
Established an annual production capacity of 400,000 units
Built a sales and service network spanning 891 touchpoints across 402 cities
Crossed 500,000 connected cars on Indian roads
Its current Indian portfolio includes models such as the Seltos, Sonet, Syros, Carens, Carnival, EV6, EV9 and the Carens Clavis EV, reflecting the company’s increasing focus on both ICE and electric mobility.
Why Workplace Recognition Matters
India’s automotive industry is entering a period of rapid transformation driven by EV adoption, software-defined vehicles and increasing localisation of manufacturing. In this environment, attracting and retaining skilled talent has become a strategic priority alongside product development.
Recognitions such as Great Place To Work® not only enhance employer branding but can also contribute to stronger employee retention, higher productivity and improved innovation—factors that directly influence long-term competitiveness.
Auto Punditz Take
Kia India’s latest workplace recognition demonstrates that the company’s strategy extends beyond launching new products and expanding market share. As competition intensifies across the automotive industry, building a strong organisational culture is increasingly becoming a differentiator.
For Kia India, maintaining high employee engagement while scaling operations, expanding its EV portfolio and strengthening exports could play an important role in sustaining its growth trajectory over the coming years.
