Mahindra & Mahindra continued its strong growth momentum in July 2026, with the automaker reporting total automotive sales of 1,03,860 units, registering a robust 26% year-on-year growth. The performance was driven by sustained demand for Mahindra’s SUV portfolio, alongside healthy growth across commercial vehicles and three-wheelers.
Mahindra SUV Sales Cross 60,000 Units
Mahindra’s Utility Vehicle business remained the key contributor to its automotive performance.
The company sold 60,048 SUVs in the domestic market during July 2026, compared with 49,871 units in July 2025, translating into a strong 20% YoY growth.
Including exports, Mahindra’s overall Utility Vehicle volumes stood at 60,887 units during the month.
The performance once again highlights the strength of Mahindra’s SUV-focused product strategy, with its portfolio spanning models such as the Scorpio range, Thar, XUV 3XO, Bolero family and XUV 7XO, alongside the company’s expanding electric SUV portfolio.
Mahindra July 2026 Sales – Key Numbers
Segment | July 2026 | July 2025 | Growth |
Total Automotive Sales | 1,03,860 | ~82,429 | +26% |
Domestic Utility Vehicles | 60,048 | 49,871 | +20% |
Utility Vehicles incl. exports | 60,887 | — | — |
LCV below 2 tonnes | 3,870 | — | +40% |
Three-Wheelers | 14,538 | — | +53% |
One of the standout performances came from Mahindra’s three-wheeler business, where volumes increased 53% YoY to 14,538 units. The light commercial vehicle segment also remained strong, with vehicles below 2 tonnes recording a 40% YoY increase to 3,870 units.
Another 60,000+ Month for Mahindra SUVs
July represents another strong month for Mahindra's passenger vehicle operations.
In June 2026, Mahindra had sold 60,393 SUVs domestically, representing 28% growth on the company's reported UV comparison, while total automotive volumes stood at 1,06,207 units.
July domestic SUV sales of 60,048 units therefore remained broadly stable sequentially, declining by only around 0.6% MoM. More importantly, Mahindra has now maintained domestic SUV volumes at around the 60,000-unit monthly level for two consecutive months. This is particularly significant considering Mahindra's sales are heavily concentrated in SUVs rather than spread across hatchbacks, sedans and MPVs.
Tractor Business Adds to Mahindra's Momentum
Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business also reported a healthy July.
Domestic tractor sales increased 21% YoY to 32,643 units, compared with 26,990 units during July last year.
Including exports, total tractor sales reached 34,420 units, registering approximately 20% YoY growth. Improved reservoir levels, faster kharif sowing and healthy farm cash flows have supported rural sentiment, providing a favourable demand environment for India's tractor industry.
Trucks & Buses Record 19% Growth
Mahindra's Trucks and Buses operations also recorded healthy growth during July.
Combined sales from Mahindra Trucks & Buses Division and SML Mahindra stood at 3,009 units, up 19% YoY.
Mahindra Trucks & Buses recorded sales of 1,406 units, representing 27% growth, while SML Mahindra contributed 1,603 units, up 12%. The performance indicates that Mahindra's growth during July wasn't restricted to passenger SUVs, with commercial mobility segments also contributing.

Auto Punditz Analysis
Mahindra's July numbers reinforce one of the most important trends currently playing out in the Indian passenger vehicle market — the company's ability to sustain SUV volumes at historically high levels.
After selling 60,393 SUVs in June 2026, Mahindra followed it with another 60,048 units in July, suggesting that the 60,000-unit monthly level is increasingly becoming a new operating benchmark rather than an occasional spike.
The bigger story, however, is the breadth of Mahindra's growth. SUVs increased 20%, sub-2-tonne LCVs grew 40%, three-wheelers jumped 53%, domestic tractors expanded 21%, and the trucks and buses business recorded 19% growth. This makes July's performance notably broad-based.
Mahindra's challenge from here will be to maintain this momentum as competition intensifies across India's SUV market. Capacity expansion, shorter waiting periods, continued demand for the Scorpio and Thar franchises, and the contribution from newer and refreshed products will be important factors through the second half of 2026.
With the festive season approaching, Mahindra enters the crucial August-October period with considerable sales momentum.
