MARUTI Retains Rank 1 in the SUV segment for July, followed by Hyundai, Mahindra & Tata

The UV Industry in India for the month of July stood at 1,25,354 units. This was more than a double growth of 67,931 units over LY July.

UV Continues to be the fastest-growing subcategory of Indian Passenger Vehicles. UV also continued to grab a greater share in the total PV sales and has beaten even the PC- Passenger Cars segment in the month of July.

  • Maruti Suzuki retained back its rank 1 UV rank in the month of July. With a volume of about 25,656 units. This was a gain of about 0.25% in the UV market share. Clearly, Maruti doesn’t want to be known as only a car manufacturer and knows its numbers to fight back its share of the UV segment. The growth in volume was about 11,920 units which was at 86.78% growth.

  • Hyundai Lost its number spot to Maruti this July and registered a market share of 19.40% in the UV segment, this was a drop of about 7.64% in the UV segment for Hyundai. It managed to sell about 24,32 units in July'21.

  • Mahindra managed to grab the podium finish over Tata and Kia. Mahindra registered 20,518 units. Kia on the other hand registered 14,658 units. And Tata Motors registered a volume of 14,774 units.

  • Both Tata and Kia were very close in terms of the 4th rank finish. However, one needs to note that this has happened on the background of Kia losing about 0.48% Market share in the UV segment. And Tata gaining close to 3.97% market share in the UV Segment.
