MG Hector Tomahawk EV: 50 Customers Take Delivery in Surat in One Day
JSW MG Motor India has handed over 50 Hector Tomahawk EVs to customers in Surat in a single day, marking an early delivery milestone for its recently introduced electric SUV. The event comes as the company begins bringing the model to customers following its launch in August.
The Surat handover offers an initial indication of customer uptake. However, a delivery event in one city does not establish nationwide demand or sustained monthly sales performance.
Prices start at ₹19.50 lakh with the battery
MG’s announced introductory prices for the Hector Tomahawk EV span four variant and seating combinations:

MG also announced an introductory Battery-as-a-Service price of ₹13.99 lakh, plus ₹4.90 per kilometre in battery rental, for a limited number of bookings. Buyers comparing the two options should account for the ongoing battery rental when evaluating the lower BaaS entry price.
69.2 kWh battery and 517 km claimed range
The Hector Tomahawk EV uses a 69.2 kWh battery and a motor producing 204 PS and 310 Nm. Its claimed MIDC range is 517 km, while the quoted 0–100 km/h acceleration time is 8.2 seconds.
DC charging support goes up to 90 kW. MG quotes approximately 35 minutes for a 30–80% charge using a suitable fast charger. Actual range and charging times will depend on operating conditions.
The SUV is the first MG model built on the company’s ADAPT architecture. MG has also announced a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, subject to applicable terms.
Space and equipment form part of the appeal
Available equipment includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument display, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and a 10-speaker Infinity audio system. A 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS are also offered. Buyers should check the equipment list for their chosen variant.

For buyers, the decision should weigh cabin practicality, access to charging and total ownership expenditure alongside the purchase price. A lower upfront BaaS price deserves particular attention to the rental agreement and expected annual usage before signing.
