JSW MG Motor India has announced prices for the limited-run MG M9 Couture Edition and MG Cyberster Couture Edition, developed in collaboration with celebrated Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta. The special editions bring bespoke design elements inspired by Gupta’s signature Serpent Infinity motif while retaining the powertrains and mechanical package of the standard models.
The MG M9 Couture Edition is priced at ₹84.94 lakh, while the MG Cyberster Couture Edition costs ₹87.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Only 50 units of each model will be offered in India, adding a strong exclusivity factor to MG SELECT’s flagship electric offerings.
Bookings for both Couture Editions opened on July 20, and the models will be retailed exclusively through the MG SELECT premium retail network.

MG M9 & Cyberster Couture Edition Prices
Model | Couture Edition Price |
MG M9 Couture Edition | ₹84.94 lakh |
MG Cyberster Couture Edition | ₹87.49 lakh |
Both Couture Editions command approximately a ₹5 lakh premium over their corresponding standard versions.
What Makes the Couture Editions Different?
Rather than mechanical upgrades, MG has focused on visual exclusivity.
Both vehicles use white as their primary exterior colour, complemented by flowing graphics inspired by Gaurav Gupta’s Serpent Infinity design language.
MG Cyberster Couture Edition
The electric roadster receives orange-coloured Serpent Infinity-inspired streaks running across its exterior.
Additional highlights include Serpent Infinity badges on the bonnet, gold-finished MG emblems at the front and rear, and embroidered detailing on the tonneau cover.
The treatment gives the already dramatic Cyberster an even more distinctive appearance without changing its fundamental design.
MG M9 Couture Edition
The M9 takes a more understated approach.
Its white exterior is contrasted by charcoal-coloured streaks, while a Serpent Infinity badge appears on the front bumper.
Another distinctive detail is the pair of brooches positioned around the front MG emblem, representing a mythical winged panther.
Inside, MG has added Couture Edition branding to the dashboard.
No Mechanical Changes
Underneath the bespoke styling, both Couture Editions remain mechanically identical to their standard counterparts.
The MG Cyberster uses a 77kWh battery paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 510 PS and 725 Nm.
The electric roadster can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and carries a claimed MIDC range of 580 km.
Its combination of all-wheel drive, rapid acceleration, electric scissor doors and convertible body style makes the Cyberster one of the most distinctive EVs currently available in India.
The MG M9, meanwhile, uses a larger 90kWh battery and a single electric motor driving the front wheels.
The powertrain produces 245 PS and 350 Nm, while MG claims an MIDC range of 548 km.
Unlike the performance-focused Cyberster, the M9 is positioned as a luxury electric limousine with a strong focus on rear-seat comfort.
Exclusivity Is the Main Attraction
With production restricted to just 50 units of each model, the Couture Editions are clearly aimed at customers looking for something considerably more exclusive than the regular versions.
The roughly ₹5 lakh premium doesn't bring additional performance or battery capacity. Instead, buyers are paying for the limited production run, distinctive exterior treatment and association with Gaurav Gupta.
This makes the Couture Editions an interesting experiment for MG SELECT.
Rather than competing solely through range, features and pricing, MG is attempting to introduce elements traditionally associated with high-end luxury brands—personalisation, design collaborations and limited-edition products.
MG SELECT Pushes Further Into New-Age Luxury
The launch also fits into JSW MG Motor India’s broader strategy for MG SELECT.
MG created the separate retail channel to sell its more aspirational products in India, including the Cyberster electric roadster and M9 electric limousine. Its Experience Centres have been designed more like contemporary galleries than conventional
dealerships, with an emphasis on personalised customer experiences.
The Couture Editions take that positioning one step further by combining automobiles with Indian fashion and design.
The strategy is particularly interesting given the response to the Cyberster since its Indian launch. The electric roadster has demonstrated that there is a niche but growing group of Indian customers willing to consider unconventional premium EVs alongside established luxury brands.
Auto Punditz Take
The MG M9 and Cyberster Couture Editions aren't about additional range or outright performance. Their appeal lies almost entirely in exclusivity.
Limiting production to just 50 units each allows MG SELECT to create scarcity while the Gaurav Gupta collaboration gives the cars a distinct Indian design connection.
More importantly, the launch signals how MG wants to build its premium business in India.
Instead of positioning MG SELECT purely as another luxury-car showroom network, the company is increasingly trying to create a lifestyle-oriented luxury ecosystem around design, performance, technology and curated ownership experiences.
Whether buyers see enough value in paying approximately ₹5 lakh extra for the Couture treatment remains to be seen. But with only 100 cars available across the two models, MG doesn't need mass-market demand for the experiment to succeed.
