Nissan India recorded total domestic sales of 3,006 units in June 2026, registering a strong 129% year-on-year growthcompared with 1,313 units sold during the same month last year. On a sequential basis, the company’s volumes increased by a modest 2% over May 2026.
The sharp annual growth was primarily driven by the newly introduced Nissan Gravite, which has quickly emerged as the carmaker’s highest-selling model in India. Meanwhile, Magnite sales weakened both annually and sequentially.

Magnite volumes fell by 30% compared with the 1,665 units sold in May 2026. Despite the decline, the Magnite continued to contribute nearly 39% of Nissan’s overall sales during the month.

Auto Punditz Analysis
June 2026 marked an important month for Nissan India as the Gravite overtook the Magnite to become the company’s largest volume contributor. The new model has strengthened Nissan’s overall position and reduced its dependence on a single product.
However, the sharp sequential decline in Magnite sales remains an area to watch.
Nissan will need to sustain the Gravite’s early momentum while ensuring that the Magnite remains competitive in the increasingly crowded compact SUV segment.
The brand’s 129% year-on-year growth is impressive, but the comparatively modest 2% month-on-month increaseshows that its overall sales base was largely stable during June. Future growth will depend on whether the Gravite can continue scaling up without weakening demand for the Magnite.
