The Magnite is Nissan’s take at the Compact SUV wave in the Indian car market. To place their product in the market this product Nissan decided to give Indian customers what attracts them the most- Affordability. They placed the product at an irresistible cost starting at a minimal ₹5.49 Lakh and going up to ₹9.59 Lakh Rupees ex-showroom. They’ve done this while also offering attractive features like puddle lamps, a wireless charger, air purifier, high-end speakers, automatic climate control, around view monitor, a tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control and ambient mood lighting at the higher models.
Owing to this marketing strategy the Magnite has seen big numbers in terms of bookings. Being launched on the 2nd of December, 2020, the Magnite attained around 32,800 bookings in a measly 30 days. As of today, this number is still climbing and reached a total of more than 40,000 bookings.
Nissan Motor India’s Managing Director, Rakesh Srivastava stated "As far as the current numbers are concerned, we've already crossed 40,000 bookings and we crossed them in the early parts of February. And the good part exactly is that the customers have appreciated the product, they have appreciated the brand connect and they are willing to wait. Most of them [customers] are early adopters to the brand and to the product,"
The Magnite is a competitor of the various compact SUVs in the segments which include the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
