The overall passenger-vehicle (PV) market in India saw strong year-on-year growth of 18.7% in November 2025, with a sales volumes of 4,17,495 units sold across OEMs. November 2025 recorded the third-highest monthly PV sales tally in the year. Sales momentum lingered from the festive season that peaked in October and purchases continued even after the festival rush.
Even in a historically dull month (November); Consumer demand remained strong. India’s passenger vehicle market appears resilient even after the festive peak, which suggests a healthy underlying baseline demand. The more value and budget conscious buyers are back (owing to GST cuts), while demand for SUVs remains intact. This dual demand supports OEMs with increased sales.

Maruti Suzuki reported an impressive 21% YoY growth with dispatches of over 1.7 Lakh units and its Market Share grew to 41% in Nov'25 from 40.2% in Nov'24. The GST reduction has boosted affordability, helping entry-level cars regain momentum.
Tata regained the second spot from Mahindra and was just 1.1k units ahead. Tata Motors appears to be balancing between ICE cars and a growing EV & SUV mix, which shows well for future positioning. The company is all gearing up for the grand launch of Sierra which looks promising and shall help it strengthen its position.
Mahindra sole focus on SUVs has worked in the OEM's favor. The Indian automaker is gaining volumes and is an extremely enviable position currently. They recently launched XEV 9S at an unbelievable price and wants a strong pie in EV SUV space.
Hyundai’s growth was moderate compared to rivals even with recently launched New Venue. Its YoY growth was the lowest in Top 6 OEMs and also lost considerable Market Share (1.7%).
