Oben Electric Records 1,417 Registrations in September 2026, Claims Electric Motorcycle Sales Lead
Oben Electric has reported its highest-ever monthly registrations, with 1,417 electric motorcycles registered in September 2026. Citing VAHAN data, the Bengaluru-based manufacturer says the performance placed it first in India’s electric motorcycle segment for the month.
The company attributes the result to demand for the Rorr Evo, which it identifies as the main driver of its September performance. The announcement comes shortly after Oben rolled out its 10,000th electric motorcycle from its Bengaluru facility.
The leadership claim applies specifically to electric motorcycles during September 2026, rather than the overall electric two-wheeler market, which also includes scooters.

Rorr Evo drives the monthly record
Oben says the response to the Rorr Evo helped it achieve its strongest monthly performance to date. The company positions the model around the attributes buyers typically evaluate in a motorcycle, including design, performance, range and everyday usability.
However, the announcement does not provide a model-wise registration breakdown. The 1,417 registrations represent Oben Electric’s total, and should not be treated as Rorr Evo sales alone.
The release also does not disclose comparable registrations for September 2025 or August 2026. Consequently, year-on-year and month-on-month growth rates cannot be calculated from the information provided.
Founder and CEO Madhumita Agrawal described the result as a reflection of customer confidence in the brand and the Rorr Evo. She also highlighted the role motorcycles could play in widening electric mobility adoption among everyday riders.
Production crosses 10,000 motorcycles
Alongside the registration milestone, Oben recently produced its 10,000th electric motorcycle at its Bengaluru plant.
The company operates a 3.5-acre manufacturing facility with a stated annual capacity of 1 lakh motorcycles. This capacity represents its potential production capability; the 10,000-unit milestone refers to cumulative motorcycles manufactured.
Oben says it develops and manufactures key EV components in-house, including LFP batteries, motors, vehicle control units and chargers, alongside proprietary software.
This approach gives the manufacturer greater responsibility for engineering, component integration and product quality as volumes increase.
Retail reach expands across 18 states
Oben reports a network of more than 150 showrooms across over 90 cities in 18 states, supported by dedicated Oben Care service centres.
A broader network can help the company reach buyers who want to test ride an electric motorcycle before purchasing. Service availability will also matter as the installed customer base grows, particularly for buyers relying on their motorcycles for daily commuting.
The release does not provide a separate count of service centres or a city-wise sales breakdown.
Auto Punditz Take
September’s reported 1,417 registrations mark a meaningful volume milestone for Oben Electric. The next measure of progress will be whether it can sustain this performance over several months while supporting a growing customer base.
The Rorr Evo’s contribution also deserves closer tracking. Model-level registrations would help establish how much of the brand’s growth comes from the newer motorcycle, while competitor data would show the margin behind its claimed segment leadership.
For now, the announcement points to a stronger monthly registration base, expanding retail reach and production capacity available for further growth. Consistent registrations and dependable after-sales support will determine how these strengths translate into a lasting market position.
