Simple Wave Electric Scooter Launched at ₹1.10 Lakh – Offers Up to 243 Km Range and 70-Litre Storage

Simple Energy has launched its first family-focused electric scooter, the Simple Wave, at an introductory starting price of ₹1,09,999. Positioned below the Simple One range, the Wave combines multiple battery options with a claimed range of up to 243 km, substantial storage capacity and connected features.
The introductory figure has been announced as an ex-factory price. Complete variant-wise prices and city-specific ex-showroom prices are expected to be revealed separately. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on September 25, 2026.

Simple Energy is offering the Wave with four battery capacities, allowing customers to choose a configuration according to their daily running and budget.

The range-topping Wave+ uses a 5 kWh Nickel Cobalt Aluminium battery, while the lower configurations employ Lithium Iron Phosphate battery packs.
The top version can reach a claimed maximum speed of 90 km/h in Sport mode. Simple Energy also claims a 0–40 km/h acceleration time of 3.3 seconds.
All battery packs carry an IP67 water- and dust-resistance rating. The scooter is also claimed to have a water-wading capability of 300 mm.
Charging time
Using the available 750W external charger, the company claims that the battery can be charged from zero to 80 per cent in approximately:
70 minutes for the smallest battery configuration
Up to 2 hours and 15 minutes for the 5 kWh version
A smart overnight charging function is designed to optimise charging and protect long-term battery health. The third-generation battery-management system also provides thermal protection, onboard diagnostics and real-time range calculations.
Family-focused design
Unlike the sharper and more performance-oriented Simple One, the Wave adopts a softer and more conventional family-scooter design. Simple Energy says the bodywork takes inspiration from the fluid movement of dolphins.
The scooter features smooth panels, a wide front apron and a continuous, smile-shaped LED daytime-running light. Dolphin-inspired details have also been incorporated into the mirrors and side panels.

The Wave will be offered in Pearl White, Coral Red, Twilight Black, Polar Blue, Dolphin Grey and Forest Green, although colour availability will vary between configurations.
Massive 70-litre storage capacity
Practicality is one of the strongest aspects of the Simple Wave. The scooter provides 70 litres of total storage, distributed across three compartments:

3-litre front glovebox
Simple Energy claims that the main underseat compartment can accommodate two helmets. The externally accessible Pill compartment can be used for items such as documents, sunglasses, a water bottle or rainwear. Buyers can also add another Pill compartment on the opposite side as an accessory.
The Wave gets a 920 mm-long seat, which the company claims is the longest fitted to an Indian scooter. Its seat height stands at 775 mm, while the ground clearance is 175 mm.
Display and connected technology
Higher variants feature a 7-inch non-touch TFT instrument display with automatic brightness adjustment. Depending on the configuration, connected functions include:

Lower variants use an InfiniteBlack multi-segment digital display, although Bluetooth connectivity remains standard.
Through the Simple Connect smartphone and smartwatch application, owners can access live location, ride statistics, vehicle diagnostics, navigation sharing, geofencing, theft alerts and towing notifications.
An Incognito mode can temporarily suspend location tracking and sharing for additional privacy.
Performance and riding modes
Most versions are powered by Simple Energy’s in-house 6.4 kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor, producing a claimed 179 Nm of torque at the wheel. The entry-level configuration uses a 4.5 kW motor.
Simple Energy says the motor is manufactured without rare-earth materials. The company has also introduced its patented HushDrive transmission system, which uses moulded rubber dampers to reduce chain noise and vibration.

The scooter has a claimed gradeability of 20 degrees, intended to help it manage steep flyovers, gradients and parking ramps.
Suspension, brakes and safety
The Simple Wave is based on the same underlying platform as the Simple One, but receives several modifications to accommodate its family-scooter positioning.
Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic front fork and adjustable twin rear shock absorbers. Simple Energy says the move from a monoshock to twin rear suspension helped create additional storage and improve load-carrying capability.
The scooter rides on 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and uses:

Safety and convenience features include traction control on selected variants, Super Hold for inclines and DropSafe, which cuts motor power if the scooter begins to tip over.
Reverse, Crawl and Limp Home modes are also available. Limp Home mode restricts performance when the battery charge becomes critically low, allowing the rider to travel a limited distance.
Service-network expansion planned
Simple Energy plans to establish company-owned Simple Super Labs across multiple states and cities. The initiative is intended to reduce the company’s average repair turnaround time from around 15 days to three days.
The first facilities are expected to open from November 2026 in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Goa, Pune, Delhi, Odisha and Kolkata.

The ₹1.10 lakh starting figure places the Wave close to several mass-market electric scooters, but a direct value comparison will only be possible after Simple Energy announces the prices of all six configurations.

The Simple Wave represents an important change in direction for Simple Energy. Rather than concentrating primarily on performance and headline range, the company is targeting the larger family-scooter market with accessible seating, substantial storage and multiple battery choices.
The 70-litre combined storage capacity is a meaningful differentiator, while the availability of four battery sizes allows Simple Energy to address buyers with very different commuting requirements. The 243 km claimed range of the Wave+ also gives the company a strong headline specification.
However, the ₹1,09,999 figure applies only to the introductory entry point, and complete variant-wise pricing remains crucial. The Wave’s ultimate success will also depend on real-world range, product reliability, delivery execution and the reach and quality of Simple Energy’s service network.
On paper, the Wave has the specifications needed to become a credible family-electric-scooter contender. The next test will be whether Simple Energy can deliver the same strength in ownership experience.
