Tata Motors Electric Vehicles registers highest ever monthly sales of 1,856 units in Oct'21!

In the EV segment, Tata Motors for the third month in succession crossed the 1,000 unit milestone to register its highest ever monthly sales of 1,586 units. EV sales for Tata are now recording nearly a four-fold growth with the rising acceptance and popularity of the Nexon EV and Tigor EV. Passenger EV volumes for Tata Motors has shot up exponentially from 422 units in Oct'20 to 1,586 units in Oct'21 with a 276% YoY growth.

  • In Oct’21, Tata Motors overall passenger vehicle business sold 33,925 units, posting a growth of 32% vs Oct’20, despite a major industry-wide shortage of electronic components.

  • EV sales catapulted to its all-time highest sales of 1,586 units and is strongly backed by Nexon EV & Tigor EV sales.

Commercial Vehicle Sales -

  • Tata Motors’ Commercial Vehicle domestic sale in Oct'21 at 33,674 units was ~18% higher than Oct'20.

  • Post the 2nd COVID wave, markets are witnessing gradual demand recovery across most segments led by M&HCVs with improving fleet utilization levels, higher number of road construction projects awarded and improving cement consumption.

  • Semiconductor shortage continues to impact the auto industry globally. The impact of supply shortage due to restrictions in East Asia continued in September, leading to moderation of production and offtake volumes.

Overall Tata Motors Domestic Sales Performance -

Tata Motors sales in the domestic market for October 2021 stood at 65,151 vehicles, compared to 49,669 units during October 2020 and 55,988 units during September 2021.
