Top 10 Selling Scooters in FY2021 – Activa, Jupiter, Dio, NTorq, Pleasure

Honda Activa continued to be the best-seller in the scooter category in FY2021 as 19,39,640 units were sold in FY2021 against 25,91,059 units in FY2020. The scooter segment registered a 17 percent decline in FY2021 and Honda was majorly impacted with Activa and Dio recording one of the highest degrowth in the segment.

Top 10 selling Scooters for Financial Year 2021 (Apr'20 to Mar'21) –

  • Honda Activa continues to be the most preferred scooter with over 19 Lakh units sold in FY2021. However, YoY sales declined 25 percent, as compared to 25,91,059 units sold in FY2020. However, Activa commanded a market share of 50.8% in FY2021 and leads by such a huge margin in the segment. Do note that even the combined sales of the remaining nine scooters in the list could not equal Activa volumes!

  • TVS Jupiter ranked second in the list with over 5.4 Lakh units sold in FY2021. YoY sales have dropped 9 percent, as compared to 5,91,467 units sold in FY2020. Jupiter is currently the second bestselling product in the TVS portfolio and is next only to TVS XL moped.

  • Honda’s Dio placed itself in the third position with 3,14,417 units as against 4,39,799 units during the same period in FY2020 with a Year-on-Year volume fall of 29 percent.

  • TVS Ntorq is ranked fourth with sales of 2,51,491 units sold in FY2021. This is degrowth of 5 percent against FY2020 when TVS sold 2,65,016 units of the Ntorq.

  • Hero Pleasure could make an entry in the Top 5 selling scooters and the model registered the highest YoY growth in the list! It sold an impressive 2,03,594 units in FY2021 and recorded a 31 percent YoY sales increase.

  • At the sixth position, Hero’s Destni 125 made an entry with sales of over 1.44 Lakh units. The sales increased 27 percent YoY and was Hero’s second bestselling scooter for FY2021.

  • Ranked seventh was the Yamaha RayZR which posted 1,30,648 units in FY2021 as against 1,07,485 units during FY2020 with a 22 percent sales increase.

  • Yamaha’s Fascino 125 had the highest YoY degrowth as 1,08,496 units were sold against 1,66,491 units with a 35 percent drop in volumes.

  • Hero Maestro slotted in at ninth position with 95,533 units as against 94,533 units in FY2020 with 1 percent growth.

  • TVS Pep+ finished in the tenth position with 89,147 units sold in FY2021.
