Tractor Sales in India for FY2021 - records the highest sales in a Financial Year!

Tractor Sales in India registered volumes of 8,99,429 units in FY2021 (Apr'20 to Mar'21) against 7,09,002 units in FY2020 (Apr'19 to Mar'20). Tractor sales in FY2021 was the highest volume recorded in any Financial Year in the Indian Tractor sales history! The volumes shot 26.9% YoY and the Industry achieved this feat which was not only in a pandemic year; but also witnessed the lowest monthly tractor sales total of 12,000 units in April 2020 due to the nationwide lockdown.

Tractor Sales in India for FY2021 v/s FY2020 -

  • Mahindra & Mahindra, World’s No.1 Tractor Manufacturer registered a 17.8% increase in volumes for FY’21 against FY’20. M&M+Swaraj sold 3,43,833 tractors in FY2021, which is 51,932 units higher than FY2020. Do note that Mahindra tractors lost market share of 2.94% which was the highest in the Industry. It is the first time in the past 6 years that Mahindra’s market share has dropped to this level.

  • TAFE recorded sales of 1,65,802 units in FY2021 with a growth of 38% from FY2020. TAFE was able to register the highest Market Share gain of 1.49% in FY2021.

  • FY2021 proved to be the best year for International Tractors (Sonalika Group) as they have gained 1.36% Market Share YoY and recorded their ever highest market share of 13.06%. Sonalika Tractors sold 1,17,503 units in the domestic market for FY2021 against 82,958 units in FY2020 with a 41.6% YoY increase.

  • Escorts tractors domestic volumes was 1,01,849 units in FY2021 against 82,252 units dispatched during FY2020. Escorts’ domestic tractor volumes crossed one lakh sales mark for the first time in an FY. Escorts Group lost market share by 0.28% in FY21 vs FY20.

  • John Deere sold 85,610 units in FY2021 when compared to 68,322 units in FY2020. It was able to garner a Market Share of 9.52% in FY2021.
