Vietnamese EV major VinFast is accelerating its India strategy beyond electric cars, with plans to enter the fast-growing electric two-wheeler segment. After making headlines with its upcoming made-in-India VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs, the company is now preparing to launch a range of electric scooters tailored specifically for Indian consumers.

VinFast Expands India Play Beyond Electric Cars
VinFast has already established its intent in India’s passenger EV space with the VF6 and VF7, which are expected to be locally manufactured. However, the company’s ambitions go much deeper.
In a strategic move, VinFast is now targeting India’s massive two-wheeler market—one of the largest in the world—by introducing electric scooters designed for local usage conditions.
Three Electric Scooters Confirmed for India
VinFast has confirmed that it will initially bring three electric scooter models from its Vietnam portfolio:
Evo
Feliz
Viper
These models are already on sale in Vietnam and cater to different customer segments—from entry-level urban commuters to more performance-oriented riders.
India-Specific Adaptations in Focus
The company has emphasized that these scooters will not be direct imports. Instead, they will be tailored for Indian road conditions, optimized for local riding habits and adapted for climate and usage patterns.
This localization strategy is critical, especially in a market where durability, range reliability, and cost efficiency are key purchase drivers.
