Volvo C40 Recharge Coupe is now India bound!


Volvo has set itself a target of having 50% of its cars, fully electric by 2025; and 100% all-electric by 2030. In India, Volvo wants to have 80% of its cars range as Electric by 2025.

As a part of this mission, the Volvo C40 Recharge Coupe is now India bound.


The model will be sold exclusively on the online platform.


The C40 Recharge: the SUV – Coupe version of the XC40 recharge, is based on the CMA platform with changes to the exterior design and interiors too updated.



The XC40 Recharge has features like :

  • sloping roofline at the rear

  • new headlamps with pixel technology,

  • a revised fascia,

  • horizontally-mounted fog lights.

  • tail lights that now extend to the boot-lid of the model.



The 2021 Volvo C40 Recharge will be powered by a 78kWh battery, that produces 408bhp and 660Nm of torque.


The twin electric motors mounted on each axle can be charged up to 80 percent in 40 minutes, with the help of a fast charger.


The claimed range is 420kms (WLTP cycle), and is expected to improve over time with regular updates taking place.


It will be the first Volvo model to be completely leather-free.



A range of color and deco options will be available uniquely with the model.

The production will be done alongside the XC40 Recharge model at its Ghent factory in Belgium.

C40 Recharge is expected to arrive in India in 2022.
